Vietnam women's futsal team wins big at Southeast Asian tournament

(Dan Tri) - In the opening match of the Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament, the Vietnamese women's futsal team won a resounding 5-2 victory over Myanmar at the Philsports Arena Manila (Philippines).

This afternoon (November 17), the Vietnamese women's futsal team entered the opening match of the Southeast Asian women's futsal tournament against Myanmar at the Philsports Arena Manila (Philippines). This tournament brings together 5 participating teams: Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia and the host Philippines. The teams will compete in a round-robin to determine the top two teams to enter the final match.

The Vietnamese futsal team had a successful start with a 5-2 victory over Myanmar. This result helped us temporarily lead the group while in the same match, Thailand only won 1-0 against Indonesia.

Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team started the match quite well. Right in the 3rd minute, we had the opening goal. Bui Thi Trang had a reasonable pressure before passing the ball back to the right position for captain Thanh Hang to rush up and finish past goalkeeper Chaw Sandi Aung.

However, after the goal, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's students could not maintain the pressure. Even the Vietnamese women's futsal team made a mistake that allowed the opponent to equalize the score in the 10th minute. From a seemingly simple sideline kick by the opponent, the Vietnamese girls did not defend well, allowing Nang Seng Brim to easily tap the ball into the empty net to equalize the score 1-1.

After that, the Vietnamese women's futsal team returned to the pressure. Several opportunities were created but Thanh Ngan and Thanh Hang failed to finish. The surprise happened in the 16th minute when Nang Seng Brim dribbled past Van Anh easily. Thuy Linh blocked the first shot but Sett Nwe Ni promptly came in to score the second goal to raise the score to 2-1 for Myanmar.

Trailing 2-1 in the first half, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang made some adjustments in the playing style. The Vietnamese women's futsal team increased the speed and applied high-intensity pressure right from the first seconds of the second half. From Thanh Ngan's sideline kick, Phuong Anh unleashed a beautiful long-range shot, leveling the score at 2-2. After the equalizer, the Vietnamese women's futsal team regained their usual excitement.

In the 25th minute, Bien Thi Hang put her name on the scoreboard with a decisive shot after dribbling straight into the goal, raising the score to 3-2 for the Vietnamese futsal team.

Applying continuous pressure, the Vietnamese women's futsal team scored a goal to increase the score to 4-2 when Thanh Ngan successfully executed a penalty kick in the 32nd minute. Before that, Bui Thi Trang was fouled by goalkeeper Chaw Sandi Aung in the penalty area.

Not stopping there, the Vietnamese women's futsal team ended the match with the final goal of 5-2 by K'Thua in the 38th minute.

At 3:00 p.m. tomorrow (November 18), the Vietnamese women's futsal team will play the second match against the Indonesian women's futsal team.
