The working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security successfully completed its mission and returned from Myanmar.

The Ministry of Public Security's working group independently rescued 7 victims and coordinated with rescue teams from Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore to locate and assist in rescuing 7 other victims.

On the evening of April 8, a flight took off from Yangon (Myanmar) to bring the rescue team of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam who participated in overcoming the consequences of the earthquake in Myanmar back to the country, landing safely at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi). On the same evening, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to welcome the team back to the country after completing their mission.

At the welcoming ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, Head of the Ministry of Public Security's Working Group, said that the Working Group had thoroughly grasped and strictly followed the instructions at the Departure Ceremony on March 30, ensuring the requirements set forth on safety, technical tactics, reporting regime and compliance with regulations when going on overseas missions. In each rescue mission, the requirement of ensuring safety is placed at the highest level and thoroughly communicated to all members of the Group.

All 26 members of the Team and 2 service dogs were in good health after completing the mission, without any injuries or accidents. The members of the Team were highly determined, worked tirelessly, and were not afraid of hardships, with the desire to save as many victims as possible.

At the same time, promoting the spirit of mutual love and helping each other of the Vietnamese people, the delegation carried out mass mobilization work, sharing difficulties with the people of Myanmar affected by the earthquake.

As a result, the Delegation independently rescued 7 victims and coordinated with rescue teams from Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore to locate and assist in rescuing 7 other victims.

Organized medical examination and treatment, first aid, disinfection, wound dressing changes, and medicine distribution for more than 50 patients. Set up 4 tents as temporary shelters for victims in concentrated areas due to loss of homes and patients at the 1,000-bed Field Hospital. Conducted disinfection and anti-mosquito spraying on an area of ​​5,000 square meters of residential areas affected by the earthquake.

The delegation also successfully organized 5 mass mobilization activities: Providing food and drinking water to people in concentrated areas and at the place where the delegation carried out its tasks; sharing and providing financial support to 6 families of the deceased victims with a total amount of more than 3,000,000 kyat, equivalent to about 18 million VND. Giving gifts to 185 patients at field hospitals and supporting through the Myanmar disaster relief agency with a total amount of 17,000,000 kyat, equivalent to about 102 million VND.

This is the amount of money that organizations and individuals in Myanmar have donated to the Delegation during their time working in the locality. Command and direction, information reporting are ensured smoothly, daily meetings are held before departure to carry out the mission as well as reporting to the country through various channels.

According to Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, during their time in Myanmar, the Ministry of Public Security's working delegation received a lot of affection from the people of Myanmar expressing gratitude and spiritual support for the delegation, especially the families of the victims.

All the cases rescued by the Working Group had been surveyed and researched by other Groups but were not carried out. Therefore, the relatives of the victims and the Myanmar Rescue Team were very eager, hopeful and moved when the Working Group of the Ministry of Public Security was able to bring the bodies out.

“The spirit of not retreating in the face of difficulties and dangers of the Working Group received admiration from the host country's rescue team as well as international rescue teams,” said Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong.

Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong also shared many difficulties during the deployment of forces in Myanmar. However, with timely encouragement from leaders at all levels, encouragement from local people, cooperation and recognition from international friends and the determination of each member, the working group overcame all difficulties and hardships to successfully complete the mission.

Immediately after returning home, the delegation will hold a meeting to review experiences and report results as well as make proposals and recommendations to the Ministry's leaders to further improve international search and rescue work in the coming time.

At the welcoming ceremony, Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said that the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security highly appreciated the proactiveness of the units in organizing and preparing the delegation to participate in search and rescue.

Immediately after the earthquake disaster occurred, with a spirit of urgency, in just two days, the Working Group was fully equipped with equipment, military supplies, and modern support machinery to quickly set off to participate in rescue and relief efforts in Myanmar.

"This activity has demonstrated the bravery and responsibility of police officers," Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen emphasized, and at the same time requested the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department to develop a procedure for rescue situations in emergency situations, proactively mobilize forces, and ensure eliteness./.
