In the second qualifying round of the 2023 Asian Championship , the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group E with Thailand, South Korea and Australia. Thanh Thuy and her teammates' first match in this round is against Australia.
Facing a team that was considered weaker, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet still fielded the strongest lineup including names like captain Thanh Thuy, setter Lam Oanh, opposite setter Kieu Trinh, middle blocker Nguyen Thi Trinh, main blocker Tu Linh and libero Khanh Dang.
With overwhelming force and skill, Vietnam created an overwhelming position against the opponent and quickly ended the first set with a score of 25-15.
In the second set, the Australian team showed their efforts and determination in every move. They defended quite well, but the kangaroo team's moves were too monotonous, not enough to break the first move of the Vietnamese girls.
Therefore, Thanh Thuy and her teammates attacked easily. In the second half of set 2, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet kept Thanh Thuy on the field, but changed some other positions. However, Vietnam still maintained the pressure and continued to win 25-15.
In the third set, Vietnam was still the dominant team in the first half of the set. On the other side, Australia still tried to score points with the hope of winning to shorten the gap. However, this team was helpless against Vietnam's lightning attacks, especially the powerful smashes of captain Thanh Thuy.
Although the opponent tried to get closer, Vietnam still played well and finished with a score of 25-21, thereby winning 3-0 overall.

Tomorrow (September 4), at 6:00 p.m., the Vietnamese team will face Thailand to compete for the top spot in the group.
