Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) and its circulation raged in many northern provinces, causing extremely serious consequences. Natural disasters swept through, leaving behind a tragic mark, thousands of houses were damaged, hundreds of thousands of hectares of rice and crops were destroyed. Faced with such a tragic scene, the spirit of mutual love of the Vietnamese people was strongly aroused.
Amidst the devastation and pain, many noble acts of the students – the future of the country – are like small “gems”, shining with love and sharing. From warm clothes, new shoes, saved up coins and many other necessary items, the students carefully wrapped and sent to their friends in the flood-affected areas. Although the gifts were small, they were filled with the kindness and spirit of mutual love of the students.
One of the most touching stories is the noble act of Vo Xuan Nghi, a student of class 4/2 at Le Lai Primary School (Da Nang). Although he is only young, he has saved up all summer collecting beer cans to sell, along with the money he saved from the city swimming competition, to donate to his friends in the North who are facing difficulties. The total amount of money he collected was 360,000 VND.

In the letter of support, Nghi wrote: “ During the summer, I collected beer cans to sell and the prize money from my city swimming competition. I collected this money to send to support my friends in the North. I hope they will be very happy .”
At the same school as Nghi, another student from Le Lai Primary School also brought the money he received from the city swimming competition to support. On the envelope, he wrote neatly: “ I am Bao An. This is the money I received to compete in the swimming competition for the youth of Da Nang city. 100K ”.

The spirit of volunteerism is spreading strongly among the young generation like a warm fire, warming the hearts of people in flood-hit areas. They have proven that, despite their young age, their kindness and sharing are not small.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Dung - Principal of Le Lai Primary School, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City said that in response to the school's campaign, many students have pooled their savings to support. " This is also a way to educate students about sharing, showing compassion, and supporting each other in times of hardship and difficulty ," Ms. Dung shared.
At Hanoi Primary School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi), students made small jars of sesame salt by hand and gave them to students and people in flooded areas. The fragrant roasted peanuts and crispy roasted sesame seeds, together with the children's small hands, wrapped up so much warm affection.

Each jar of sesame salt comes with a small card, with sincere, innocent but loving wishes. “I wish you all to quickly overcome these difficulties”; “I wish everyone to overcome the storm and flood and find their loved ones”; “I wish those in difficulty to always be healthy, peaceful and safe”. Those lines are like small rays of light, awakening hope and determination in hearts that are suffering from loss and pain.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong - Principal of Hanoi Primary School: " When I read the cards written by the students, I was very surprised and touched. The wishes were very innocent and naive but full of the children's love and care for the people in the flood areas. I think this activity has achieved meaningful goals, helping the children understand the spirit of mutual love and responsibility to the community ."
Le Huynh Phuong Anh, a student in Hoang Viet hamlet, Tan Phuoc commune, Tan Hong district, Dong Thap province, is in grade 2 at Tan Hung town primary school, Tan Hung district (Long An province). She voluntarily opened her piggy bank to collect a total of 1 million VND to support people in the northern provinces affected by storm No. 3 (Yagi storm). Phuong Anh's actions have inspired many people, proving that compassion does not discriminate between age and social status.

The spirit of volunteerism is an endless source in the souls of the Vietnamese people. In the most difficult times, when natural disasters strike, that source surges strongly with many noble acts. Each notebook, each book, each savings or each small item contains the sincerity of the students. The kindness of the students has lit a flame of hope in the dark night of sorrow, warmed the hearts of the people in the flooded areas, and given them the strength to stand up and rebuild their homeland.
Children are the future buds of the country. Fostering in them love and sharing with others is also a measure of human dignity and, more importantly, love for compatriots and nation...
