From April 7, Hanoi will barricade the area around the 'Shark Jaws' building

In order to ensure security and order and prevent traffic congestion in front of the "Shark Jaws" building, the Hanoi Department of Construction announced a pilot plan to adjust traffic organization around the Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square area (Hoan Kiem district).

The Department of Construction requested the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District to direct functional forces and local authorities to arrange barriers to cordon off the area in front of the square, arrange forces to coordinate with the Department of Construction Inspectorate, Hanoi Traffic Police and related units to regulate and guide traffic flow, avoid traffic congestion, ensure traffic safety and order, and urban order in the Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square area.

Hoan Kiem District People's Committee organizes the adjustment of the fence range to suit the traffic organization plan serving the walking route during the organization of the Walking Street or events taking place around the traffic organization area;

Organize inspections and handle violations of traffic safety and order, encroachment on sidewalks and roads for business purposes, illegal parking causing traffic insecurity and traffic congestion on roads and intersections in neighboring areas.

Based on the progress of the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square renovation project and the actual traffic situation at the site, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District proposed a plan to adjust the traffic organization in the Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square area accordingly.

Previously, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District "finalized" that the "Shark Jaw" building would be demolished before April 30, 2025. Relevant units met to discuss the implementation process to dismantle the building before this deadline.
