Information about the list of HIV infected people in Tuyen Hoa district spread on Facebook

On April 7, a document titled “List of newly discovered HIV patients” appeared on several Facebook groups, with addresses in several communes in Tuyen Hoa district, causing public confusion and affecting the spirit of local people. This list has no signature, seal or confirmation from any competent authority, making its authenticity highly questionable.

Mr. Cao Sy Phuong, Director of Tuyen Hoa District Medical Center, said that upon receiving the information, Tuyen Hoa District Medical Center sent a document requesting relevant units to conduct an inspection and verification of the incident. Thereby, it was determined that the list of HIV-infected people spreading on social networking groups was false information and had no legal basis.

"According to regulations, information about people infected with HIV is not public, is sealed and carefully stored, but the list posted on social networks does not have the seal or signature of the authorities, so it is not legal, is not correct information, is fake news," the Director of Tuyen Hoa District Medical Center affirmed.
