From June 15, that is, starting tomorrow, any business that trades in gold without issuing electronic invoices connected to the tax authorities will have its license revoked. This is the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a recent meeting on monetary and fiscal policies.

In addition, the Prime Minister also requested to continue to thoroughly review, evaluate and summarize the implementation of Decree No. 24/2012 of the Government on the management of gold trading activities, strengthen inspection, supervision and strictly handle violations. Implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, the Tax sector nationwide has established inspection teams to supervise the implementation of electronic invoices.

To issue an invoice, you need to have complete information of the buyer and seller. However, there are customers who refuse to provide information. However, businesses can still issue electronic invoices, thanks to the electronic invoice solution generated from the cash register connected to the tax authority. Businesses still issue invoices for each sale to retail customers.

"They didn't give us ID cards, but when we connected with the tax authorities, we still wrote," said Mr. Nguyen Duy Tan - Director of Tan Minh Gold and Silver Trading Company.

"Our company invites customers to provide their ID cards to enter into the electronic invoice. The electronic invoice has full customer information," said Mr. Vu Hoang Anh - Accountant of Quoc Trinh Gold and Silver Company.

Hanoi currently has the second largest number of gold trading units in the country with about 400 enterprises. Since the beginning of last year, Hanoi has also been one of three localities piloting the implementation of issuing electronic invoices generated from cash registers, so currently 100% of gold trading establishments have implemented it. However, the problem lies in the fact that many people who buy and sell gold are still not interested in getting invoices.

When buying or selling gold, people will receive electronic invoices. Currently, the Hanoi Tax Department is actively promoting for people to buy gold and receive electronic invoices to ensure their own rights.

Mr. Dinh Hoang Tuan - Head of the Tax Department of Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City said: "People who buy gold and get an invoice will prove the origin and ensure the quality. Second, they can also participate in the lucky draw program."

Hanoi has organized many inspection teams to inspect and supervise the activities of issuing electronic invoices for each sale of gold trading enterprises. Enterprises must strictly implement the regulations on issuing invoices for each sale, including cases where the buyer takes the invoice or not.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Minh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Tax Department said: "Establish an interdisciplinary inspection team to inspect the use of electronic invoices with retail businesses, focusing on inspection of gold trading activities. Coordinate violations in invoice processing, promptly transfer files to tax authorities for handling according to authority".

Currently, nationwide, there are over 12,500 enterprises engaged in gold and silver trading and processing, and over 5,000 households and individuals processing gold. 100% of enterprises have applied electronic invoices, with the number of invoices used being 1.34 million. From June 15, the inspection and examination of the use of electronic invoices by gold trading enterprises will continue, and violators will have their licenses revoked.
