The Mother Goddess Festival held at the Mother Goddess Temple, Lao Cai Ward, Lao Cai City is an opportunity for people to express their respect and gratitude to Mother Goddess Lieu Hanh - one of the four immortal saints of the Vietnamese people.



Mau Temple is located in Group 4, Lao Cai Ward, Lao Cai City. The temple is located at the confluence of the Nam Thi River and the Red River flowing into Vietnam. Mau Temple is the place to worship the Holy Mother Lieu Hanh Princess, a benevolent deity who exorcises evil spirits, saves the poor, and helps the royal court fight foreign invaders to protect the sacred border of the Fatherland. At the same time, she is the heroic Mother in the folk subconscious of the Vietnamese people. After more than 200 years of existence, Mau Temple is associated with the historical values of the nation, with cultural features imbued with identity and is a spiritual landmark at the border. Mau Temple was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism under Decision No. 325/QD-BVHTTDL dated January 26, 2011.
