Since the beginning of the year, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has discovered 51 cases of electricity fraud, collecting 94,649 kWh of electricity, equivalent to nearly 254 million VND.

According to Ha Tinh Electricity Company, the units that detected a large number of violations were: Ky Anh Electricity detected and handled 13 cases, collecting 25,239 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 69.6 million VND; Loc Ha Electricity detected and handled 9 cases, collecting 11,072 kWh of electricity, equivalent to nearly 21.3 million VND; Thach Ha Electricity detected and handled 9 cases, collecting 5,917 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 16.8 million VND; Cam Xuyen Electricity detected and handled 6 cases, collecting 10,723 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 33.8 million VND...

A customer in Cam Xuyen district arbitrarily hooked up the voltage divider directly to the meter box without going through the metering system.

It is worth mentioning that although the number of cases is small, the amount of additional revenue collected by some units is high, showing that the fraudulent behavior in electricity usage is complicated and takes place over a long period of time.

Specifically: Duc Tho Electricity discovered and handled 2 cases, the output of which was 11,746 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 35 million VND; Huong Son Electricity discovered and handled 2 cases, the output of which was 9,056 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 26.6 million VND; Ha Tinh City Electricity discovered and handled 2 cases, the output of which was 9,259 kWh of electricity, equivalent to 23.4 million VND...

According to records, the acts of electricity fraud in the area recently mainly include directly hooking into the voltage divider in the meter box, without going through the metering system; reversing the polarity of the meter and using other coolants; affecting the metering system...

Fraud in electricity use is an illegal act, not only causing loss of state assets but also leading to power delays and electrical accidents. Therefore, Ha Tinh Electricity Company will continue to promote propaganda to raise people's awareness of electricity use; increase inspection of the power grid during the day and night, periodically and suddenly, especially lines and transformer stations with high electricity loss rates to promptly detect cases of "electricity theft"; continue to invest in modern equipment to detect abnormalities in customers' electricity use...
