Thanh Chuong 3 High School is located in Phong Thinh Commune - a commune in the mountainous area of Nghe An Province. With a wide enrollment area, the school's students are mainly children from communes in the Vietnam - Laos border area and children of ethnic minorities resettled in the Ban Ve hydroelectric reservoir of Tuong Duong District, so the conditions of many students' families are still difficult, mainly agricultural production.

The school currently has 30 classes with nearly 1,400 students. The total number of teachers and staff in the school is 77 people, 100% of teachers are qualified, including 19 masters (26.0%), 30 teachers are excellent teachers at the provincial level (41.1%).
Overcoming difficulties, over the years, the collective of teachers and students of the school have always built and nurtured to make Thanh Chuong 3 High School increasingly strong, with a rich tradition of good teaching and good learning. The school has twice been awarded the Labor Medal by the President, and is one of the first high schools in Nghe An province to be recognized as a national standard school.
In recent years, the school has always maintained its achievements in educational quality with many students achieving high scores in high school graduation exams, excellent students in the province and students winning prizes in provincial science and technology competitions, the graduation rate is always 100%, the quality of education is higher year after year.
