The highlight of the celebration was the epic art program lasting more than 30 minutes, including special music and dance performances, summarizing the entire history of the birth, fighting and victory of the Army as well as affirming the great role of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

In 2024, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, there will be 22 key activities comprehensively deployed in many fields such as: Propaganda, education, emulation, rewards; culture, literature, arts, sports; exhibitions, fairs; seminars, talks, meetings, exchanges and policy activities, mass mobilization, gratitude... In particular, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 will take place at Gia Lam airport (Long Bien district) from December 19 to 22, a highlight in the series of events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. In addition, in November and December, there will be outstanding activities such as: The entire army will carry out the peak emulation "Proud of tradition - Continuing the feat - worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers"; broadcast 60 episodes of the TV series Timeless, the documentary Father and Son Soldiers, and Progress Under the Military Flag; According to information from the Ministry of National Defense, more than 1,830 works celebrating the anniversary, worth about 260 billion VND, were completed on this occasion. Agencies, units, and localities coordinated to deploy financial support to renovate and embellish places of worship (at home) for 32/34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, with a total amount of 2.56 billion VND.
