Exhibition of Binh Dinh's names and boundaries over 50 years

On March 28, the Binh Dinh Provincial Historical Archives Center (Quy Nhon City) organized an exhibition of archival documents with the theme "Binh Dinh 50 years of construction and development", on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the province's Liberation Day.

Taking place until May 5, the exhibition displays more than 1,000 documents, materials, and images through a system of outdoor panels and an area displaying archival documents in galleries at the Provincial Historical Archives Center with 3 main themes.

Tay Son spirit, resounding victory: Reenacting historical events of the resistance war against the US (1954-1975) such as Vinh Thanh uprising, An Lao victory, Deo Nhong - Duong Lieu, Dong Khoi movement in the Eastern region, and liberation day April 30, 1975...

Innovation and development (from 1975 to present): Introducing socio-economic achievements, provincial development planning to 2050, along with typical craft village and cultural products.

Name and boundaries of Binh Dinh: Documents on names and administrative maps through historical periods.

Mr. Lam Truong Dinh - Director of Binh Dinh Province Historical Archives Center - said: "We innovate the way of displaying documents according to themes, not according to historical progress.

Based on the administrative boundary streamlining project being implemented, the center introduces documents related to the names and administrative boundaries of previous historical periods, so that visitors can better understand their homeland Binh Dinh.

Using his phone to take old black and white photos, Nguyen Ngoc Hoai Thuong, a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at Quy Nhon University, happily said:

“I was most impressed with the images of the campaign to liberate Binh Dinh province. Today’s exhibition helps me understand more about the history of the nation and the province. I think young people should come here more to learn about local history.”
