Recently, Tay Ninh Newspaper reporters, together with the Red Cross Society of Truong Hoa Commune and the Police of Truong Hoa Commune, Hoa Thanh Town, visited Mr. Phan Anh Tuan (born in 1965) and his wife, Mrs. Vo Thi Thuy Lan (born in 1974) - an elderly couple with extremely difficult circumstances whose article was published by Tay Ninh Online Newspaper on March 13, 2025.

Reporters of Tay Ninh Newspaper and officials of the Red Cross Society of Truong Hoa commune visited and presented support money from Tay Ninh Newspaper readers to Mr. Tuan and his wife.

Mr. Tuan has been disabled in his legs since childhood due to polio. His wife, Mrs. Lan, suffered a second stroke that left her legs paralyzed for over a year. The couple used to make a living together by selling lottery tickets.

Since Mrs. Lan became paralyzed, Mr. Tuan has been struggling to take care of his wife alone. With many illnesses, Mr. Tuan and his wife have run out of money to pay for medical treatment. With no money to continue selling lottery tickets, the couple has fallen into poverty and illness.

With no other options, he wrote a petition to the Tay Ninh Newspaper Editorial Office in the hope of receiving help during this difficult time. Upon receiving his plea, the Tay Ninh Newspaper Social Work Department sent reporters to the locality to verify his family’s situation and provide timely support.

Tay Ninh Newspaper reporters have mobilized donors to support the cost of buying a 3-wheel electric motorbike to help Mr. Tuan travel and sell lottery tickets.

After posting the article, calling for help, and mobilizing, the situation of Mr. Tuan and his wife received sympathy and support from many readers and philanthropists inside and outside the province. As of March 30, the amount of money donated to Mr. Tuan and his wife reached 21.5 million VND.

Responding to Mr. Tuan's wishes and aspirations, Tay Ninh Newspaper reporters coordinated with benefactors to withdraw money from the mobilized funds to support Mr. Tuan in buying a 3-wheeled electric motorbike, worth 6 million VND, to help him have a means of transportation; supported 1 million VND to create capital for him to sell lottery tickets and gave 14.5 million VND in cash to him and his wife to use for medical treatment and daily living expenses.

Receiving support from readers of Tay Ninh Newspaper and philanthropists, Mr. Tuan was both excited and moved to share that since receiving attention and sharing from Tay Ninh Newspaper, his family's situation has been known to the Newspaper's readers.

His family also received many visits, encouragement and support from many departments, agencies, organizations, localities and philanthropists, from necessities to medicine and treatment costs.

Everyone's help has helped Mr. Tuan's family overcome difficulties, have the conditions to resume their daily work and have better conditions for medical treatment.

Mr. Tuan expressed his sincere and deep gratitude to Tay Ninh Newspaper, departments, branches, organizations and benefactors who helped his family during the time of family exhaustion and difficulty.

He promised to use the money for the right purpose and to work hard to have a stable income to take care of his family.
