Ms. Tran Thi Le Thanh, Head of the Foreign Language Group at Hoang Le Kha High School for the Gifted, said that the province's first digital class represents Tay Ninh's (initial) transformation in promoting the application of information technology in educational activities. The first lesson of the digital class at Hoang Le Kha High School for the Gifted shows that students have the opportunity to learn in a highly interactive environment.

Not only interacting with teachers and classmates in class, students also interact with many students at other schools in the province, even exchanging and discussing with teachers in Ho Chi Minh City and foreign teachers at the same time. Between schools in the province, in the country and abroad, when classes, lessons and lessons take place simultaneously according to the program distribution, students can completely interact in conditions that are not limited by space like traditional classrooms.

“To open a digital class, it is necessary to equip technical facilities, human resources and finance. In the digital English class held this afternoon (April 11), students of Hoang Le Kha High School for the Gifted interacted with students from four schools, including Ly Thuong Kiet High School, Quang Trung High School, Tay Ninh High School and Nguyen Hue High School. Before implementing the first digital class, the school, teachers and related departments prepared a month in advance” – Ms. Tran Thi Le Thanh informed.

“For English, digital classes bring many benefits. Through the lessons, students can completely assess their own academic ability and foreign language proficiency,” Ms. Thanh continued. From a purely professional perspective, Ms. Thanh believes that in order to have quality digital lessons, teachers need to invest a lot of time, including applying artificial intelligence (AI) to prepare lessons and plans before class.

After 30 minutes of experiencing the "high-tech lesson", Nguyen Kien Van, a 10th grade student at Hoang Le Kha High School for the Gifted, commented that the classroom environment is different from a traditional classroom.

“In a traditional class, I only study with my classmates, but in an online class, I can study with many students from the province, the country and even abroad at the same time. Interacting with foreign friends and teachers in a lesson, I find that it helps improve the students’ speaking skills (English)” - said Nguyen Kien Van.

“From childhood until today, this is the most interesting lesson I have ever had. Through the digital environment, the electronic environment, I can interact openly and confidently exchange foreign language learning skills with not only friends in the province, in the country but also internationally.

For English, the time of a traditional class is not enough for students to practice speaking with each other, digital classes overcome this, we are more confident when communicating with foreign friends. I think we should combine both traditional and digital classes, these two models complement each other very well, not only for foreign languages" - Tran Phan Kha My, a 10th grade Physics student at Hoang Le Kha High School shared.

“Digital classrooms are an effective strategic solution to make English the second language in the Tay Ninh education system in the coming time,” said Nguyen Van Phuoc, Director of the Department of Education and Training.
