Awarding ceremony of the photo contest "Da Nang"

(NADS) - On the morning of December 22, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City coordinated with the Da Nang Art Photography Association to organize the opening of the exhibition and award ceremony of the second photo contest on environment and biodiversity with the theme "Da Nang - Action for Nature" in 2023.

Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City and Artist Than Nguyen, Chairman of the Da Nang City Art Photography Association awarded the First Prize of the contest to author Hoang Chi Dung with the work Wild Birds of Son Tra.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City; Artist Huynh Anh, Member of the Executive Committee - Head of the Inspection Committee, Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists; Artist Than Nguyen, Chairman of the Da Nang Association of Photographic Arts, Member of the Art Council of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

Da Nang City has a rich forest ecosystem, with a total forest area and land planned for forest development of more than 66 thousand hectares, accounting for about 51% of the city's natural land area; Da Nang also has very unique nature reserves such as Ba Na - Nui Chua Nature Reserve, Nam Hai Van Special-use Forest, Son Tra Nature Reserve; The coastal waters of Da Nang have high biodiversity.

In order to select works with profound meaning about nature and biodiversity of Da Nang, contributing to raising public awareness, calling and promoting to people, communities and tourists about an environmentally friendly city, a city with a unique, diverse and rich ecosystem, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has chaired and coordinated with the Da Nang City Art Photography Association to organize the "Photography Contest on Environment and Biodiversity" with the theme "Da Nang - Action for Nature" for the second time in 2023.

Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City, spoke.

"Not only stopping at this Contest, we hope to create more effects and attention from the community and society towards the city's biodiversity conservation work. Each citizen is a very important factor contributing to creating a lifestyle for the community with responsible behavior towards nature, joining hands to "Build Da Nang - an environmental city", towards an ecological urban area in the future", said Mr. Dang Quang Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City.

The organizing committee selected 15 best works to award prizes. 63 most typical works were selected for exhibition out of a total of 744 works by 109 authors in 11 participating provinces and cities.
