On the afternoon of March 27, in Hai Phong , the Navy summarized and awarded literary and artistic creation awards on the theme of the Vietnam People's Navy for the period 2021-2025. The event honored outstanding works that realistically depict the image of loyal marine soldiers, contributing to spreading love for the sea and islands and patriotism.
Attending the Program were comrades: Rear Admiral Do Van Yen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy, Head of the Organizing Committee; Associate Professor, Doctor, Musician Do Hong Quan, President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations; Artist, journalist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; representatives of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; heads of agencies and units in the Navy; representatives of central and local literature and arts organizations; press agencies and a large number of officers, soldiers and authors with award-winning works.
Over the past 5 years, the movement of composing and promoting literary and artistic works on the theme of the Vietnam People's Navy has created a strong influence. Thousands of professional and amateur authors have traveled tens of thousands of nautical miles to Truong Sa island district, DK1 platform and many other sea and island areas to collect real-life materials. As a result, 1,157 works of art in various forms such as music , photography, literature and cinema have been born.
The works truly reflect the spirit, will, determination, training life, and combat readiness of Navy officers and soldiers. Thereby, they contribute to encouraging and building trust and love for the Party, the Fatherland, and the People, as well as raising awareness of the sacred task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.
At the ceremony, the Navy awarded prizes to 55 works with profound ideological content and high artistic value. Of which, there were 7 A prizes, 13 B prizes, 20 C prizes, and 15 consolation prizes. In addition, 17 groups and 12 individuals with outstanding achievements in composing, mobilizing, and promoting literature and art on the Navy theme were also awarded certificates of merit.
Rear Admiral Do Van Yen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy, emphasized that literary and artistic creation not only contributes to the country's cultural and artistic development but also helps promote the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers". He expressed his hope that artists will continue to create more works about the sea and islands and the Vietnam People's Navy, accompanying the Navy in the cause of protecting the Fatherland.
The award ceremony is not only a recognition for the authors but also opens up new creative opportunities, continuing to spread national pride and the spirit of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands. These literary and artistic works will live forever, becoming a source of inspiration for the next generation in the journey to protect every inch of the homeland's sea.
Within the framework of the event, NSNA, journalist Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine presented the photo book "Fatherland on the Shore of Waves" to Rear Admiral Do Van Yen, Deputy Political Commissar of the Navy.
This book includes 153 outstanding works, including award-winning photos selected for exhibition at the National Art Photography Contest chaired by the Central Propaganda Department, in coordination with the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
The content of the book “Fatherland on the Shore” focuses on introducing and promoting the potential, natural beauty, and people of Vietnam’s sea and island regions. Besides, it also realistically depicts the hardships and silent sacrifices of fishermen and Navy soldiers. They are the ones who do not fear hardships, are resilient in the face of storms, and stick to the sea day and night, firmly maintaining the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland.
