Awarding 155 Vallet scholarships to excellent students in the Central Highlands

On August 28, in Da Lat city, Lam Dong province, the Rencontres du Vietnam Organization awarded the 2024 Vallet scholarships to students with excellent achievements and overcoming difficulties in their studies in the Central Highlands region and the two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan.

Attending the event were Comrade Nguyen Thai Hoc, Acting Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Pham S, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Rencontres du Vietnam Organization, and representatives of the Vallet Scholarship Fund.

Lam Dong Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Thai Hoc presented flowers to thank Professor Tran Thanh Van and his wife and representatives of the Vallet Scholarship Fund.

The program awarded 155 scholarships, totaling 2.75 billion VND and certificates from the Vietnam Rencontres Organization. Of which, each scholarship for students is 15 million VND (an increase of 1 million VND compared to 2023), and student scholarships are 29 million VND (an increase of 1 million VND).

Among the students receiving Vallet scholarships this year, there are 125 students from high schools, ethnic boarding schools and excellent students overcoming difficulties in the Central Highlands provinces, as well as from Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces.

30 Vallet scholarships for excellent students of Tay Nguyen University, Nha Trang University, Da Lat University and students who overcome difficulties and study well from universities in the Tay Nguyen.

Unfortunately, due to health reasons, Professor Odon Vallet, Chairman of the Vallet Scholarship Fund, could not come to Da Lat in person to present scholarships to excellent students this time.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Tran Thanh Van said he was very happy to return to Da Lat city, a poetic and extremely special city, associated with many meaningful activities, bringing humanistic values ​​to the Rencontres du Vietnam Organization in particular and the Vallet Scholarship Fund in general.

According to the Organizing Committee, this is the 24th year that the Science and Education Organization Rencontres du Vietnam has awarded the Vallet scholarship, mainly sponsored by Professor Odon Vallet, to Vietnamese students, helping them have more motivation to go further on their studies and realize their passion for science.

Awarding Vallet scholarships to outstanding students from ethnic minorities.

Since 2001, the Vallet Scholarship Fund has awarded more than 55,000 scholarships worth more than VND500 billion. The number and value of scholarships have increased each year.

This scholarship award is part of the 2024 Vallet scholarship plan of the Vietnam Rencontres du Vietnam Science and Education Organization for more than 2,100 students nationwide, with a total value of more than 50 billion VND.
