Tran Quyet Chien fights Chiem Hong Thai in the quarter-finals of the Asian Carom Tournament

On March 27, the Asian Carom Billiards Championship officially kicked off in Gangwon Province (South Korea). The men's 3-cushion carom event attracted a lot of attention with the participation of many strong players such as Tran Quyet Chien, Bao Phuong Vinh, Tran Thanh Luc (Vietnam), Cho Myung Woo, Kim Jun Tae, Heo Jung Han (South Korea)...

With a level among the top in the world, Vietnamese athletes had an easy day of competition. Out of 10 participants, 7 passed the group stage to reach the quarterfinals, including: Tran Quyet Chien, Bao Phuong Vinh, Chiem Hong Thai, Tran Duc Minh, Nguyen Van Tai, Le Thanh Tien, Ho Hoang Hung.

Korea, which is also strong in 3-cushion carom, has 8 players. The remaining player in this round is Japanese player Funaki Shouta.

On March 28, the men's 3-cushion event will have quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.

In the quarterfinals, Tran Quyet Chien will face his compatriot Chiem Hong Thai. This will be a match that Vietnamese fans are looking forward to, because the two are very familiar with each other in the domestic arena.

Another match between compatriots is between World Cup champion Ho Chi Minh City Tran Duc Minh and Ho Hoang Hung.

Bao Phuong Vinh will face Kim Haeng Jik, Nguyen Van Tai will face Lee Beom Yeol, Le Thanh Tien will face Son Jun Hyuk.

The 2025 Asian Carom Billiards Championship will take place from March 27 to 30 in Gangwon. The men's 3-cushion carom event will take place from March 27 to 28.

The women's 3-cushion carom, U22 3-cushion carom and men's 1-cushion carom events will compete from March 29 to 30.
