On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Binh Dinh province (March 31, 1975 - March 31, 2025), the Provincial Historical Archives Center organized an exhibition of archival documents with the theme "Binh Dinh - 50 years of construction and development", recreating the proud historical stages of the homeland.
From glorious history to far-reaching aspirations
The exhibition takes place from March 28 to May 5, introducing more than 1,000 documents, materials, and images through a system of outdoor panels and galleries with content according to 3 themes.
In the first theme "Promoting the heroic spirit of Tay Son, steadfast uprising, quick battle and quick victory", visitors can see many documents, materials, and images recreating the heroic historical milestones in the resistance war against the US (from 1954 to 1975), typical events in the resistance war against the US: Vinh Thanh Uprising, An Lao Victory, Thuan Ninh Victory (Tay Son), Hill 10 Victory (Hoai Nhon), Deo Nhong - Duong Lieu Victory (Phu My)..., liberating Binh Dinh province and completely liberating the South, unifying the country (April 30, 1975).

The exhibition space is more lively with models of the Vinh Thanh Uprising and Quy Nhon Victory monuments. In particular, with the support of the Binh Dinh Provincial Military Command, there are also some valuable artifacts from the anti-American resistance war on display, such as the hammock of Mr. Tran Du (My Duc, Phu My) who used it to transport many wounded soldiers, or the secret tunnel cover in An Nhon - where wounded soldiers, cadres and revolutionary soldiers were hidden. In addition, there is an introduction of information and documents about many martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces, heroes of labor... of Binh Dinh homeland.

The second theme “On the path of innovation and development” (from 1975 to present) introduces documents, materials, and images demonstrating outstanding achievements, determination to implement innovation, build a rich and prosperous Binh Dinh as well as planning orientation for Binh Dinh province in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. At the same time, there is also a separate area to display traditional craft village products, cultural characteristics and typical OCOP products of the province.
The third topic is “Name and administrative boundaries of Binh Dinh province” with many valuable historical documents, maps, and documents on administrative boundaries of Binh Dinh province. According to Mr. Lam Truong Dinh, Director of the Provincial Historical Archives Center, the Center has dedicated a room to display this topic, in order to closely follow the current issues that everyone is interested in, which are the arrangement of administrative units and the merger of provinces nationwide.

Mr. Dinh said: The third theme introduces visitors to a lot of information about the name of Binh Dinh land associated with the history of formation and development, along with many maps and documents about the administrative boundaries of the province. For example, the map from the French colonial period shows that Binh Dinh province is much larger than it is now, including areas belonging to the Central Highlands provinces today.
Awakening pride in a time of turmoil
The exhibition has attracted many people from near and far to visit, including Mr. Pham Dinh Phong (73 years old, from An Nhon town, currently living in Ho Chi Minh City). Mr. Phong felt very meaningful when seeing many images and documents about the heroic fight of the army and people of Binh Dinh province on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of his homeland.

“In particular, I was deeply moved when I saw the images of Binh Dinh at the time of the military regrouping to the North. Because in 1954, when I was only 2 years old, my grandfather and father were also among the children of Binh Dinh who regrouped. It was not until the province was liberated in 1975 that my father returned to see him that I first met him; my grandfather had died in the North,” Mr. Phong shared.
Many valuable documents and materials such as the order of the Binh Dinh Provincial Front Command dated March 3, 1975, were solemnly displayed, attracting the attention of many people about a difficult historical moment, when the Paris Agreement was broken, our army and people were forced to continue to take up arms to fight to protect the achievements of the revolution.

Each sentence, each word in the order is imbued with the spirit of uprising, the indomitable will of the army and people of Binh Dinh, with a resounding call and urging: "The Command of the Binh Dinh Provincial Front orders: The People's Liberation Armed Forces must quickly march out with an attacking spirit like thunder and lightning, resolutely win the first battle, destroy completely, capture prisoners, collect weapons, take advantage of the victory to quickly encircle, continuously attack, destroy the stubborn, evil units, the core of the enemy, quickly sweep away and eliminate their support in the countryside to effectively support the people to rise up, liberate villages and communes...".
The exhibition has contributed to educating the younger generation about the tradition of patriotism, arousing pride and responsibility in the development of the homeland and the country. Tran Huu Huy, a first-year student majoring in Educational Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Quy Nhon University, and his friends in the faculty visited the exhibition on the morning of March 28. Huy said that when he was in middle school and high school in An Nhon, Huy had also visited museums and historical sites in the province, but visiting the exhibition this time was a different feeling - deeper and more proud for Huy.
“Looking at the photos and reading the documents, I suddenly felt an indescribable emotion welling up in my heart. To have the peaceful life we have today, many generations of our ancestors had to sacrifice and shed blood... We, the young generation today, must always remember and continue the revolutionary tradition, joining hands to contribute to building, protecting and developing our homeland and country,” Huy confided.
