According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of Uong Bi city, at the Provincial Competition for Excellent Students at Secondary School, Uong Bi city won 50 prizes, including 3 First prizes (an increase of 1 First prize compared to last year), 14 Second prizes, 18 Third prizes and 15 Encouragement prizes. The percentage of students participating in the competition winning prizes was 53.19%, the highest among the provincial towns/cities. Of which, the 3 teams with the highest percentage of students winning prizes in the province were in Mathematics (92.3% of students participating in the competition won prizes) and Natural Sciences (85.7% of students participating in the competition won prizes in Chemistry, 58.3% of students winning prizes in Physics).
The spearhead work in the fields of Physical Education and Science and Technology Competition, English, also achieved impressive results. Uong Bi City won 16 medals at the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival (7 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals, 1 Bronze medal); 1 Gold medal at the 2025 Provincial Student Athletics Competition; 4 prizes at the Provincial Science and Technology Competition for Secondary School Students (3 Second prizes, 1 Third prize, the highest rate of winning projects in the Secondary School category); 1 Third prize at the Provincial English Club Debate Competition.
To achieve this result, in addition to the efforts and hard work of students and the dedication of teachers to their profession and students, there is also the attention of all levels and sectors, creating the best learning environment for students in the spirit of "Education and training is the top national policy".
At the conference, Uong Bi city honored and rewarded 6 students who won the National Phu Dong Sports Festival; 50 students who won the provincial excellent student award; 14 students who won the provincial Science and Technology competition, athletics competition, and English Club. At the same time, 28 teachers who trained for the national team and 32 teachers with outstanding achievements at the Provincial Excellent Teacher and Excellent Homeroom Teacher Competition for the 2024-2025 school year were honored.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Mai Vu Tuan, Secretary of the Uong Bi City Party Committee, acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the students as well as the city's education sector in the 2024-2025 school year. In the coming time, implementing the Central's conclusions and the Provincial Party Committee's direction on reorganizing the political system and commune-level administrative units, including the policy of transferring education and training management from junior high school down to the wards, but not taking education and training lightly.
The Secretary of the Uong Bi City Party Committee requested all levels and sectors to focus on coordination, propose plans, and arrange a large enough land fund for education and training, with a vision, linked to the orientation of public investment and promotion of social investment; pay attention to allocating resources to build new, repair, and consolidate school facilities, purchase tools, equipment, and learning materials to ensure compliance with regulations. In addition, continue to flexibly restructure the team and develop, improve the quality, and standardize the team of teachers and educational managers to meet the requirements of innovation. All levels and sectors, especially the education sector, pay attention to the work of discovering and nurturing talents, creating favorable conditions for all students to have the opportunity to develop comprehensively.
