On the morning of October 14, at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary and President To Lam presented the decision to appoint Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to foreign countries for the 2024-2027 term.

Also attending were Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung; Party Central Committee members: Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Le Khanh Hai, Head of the Office of the President.
At the ceremony, authorized by the General Secretary and President, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Le Thanh Ha announced the President's decision to appoint 16 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to other countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of the appointed Ambassadors expressed their emotion and honor to receive the decision directly from the General Secretary and President; demonstrating the recognition, trust and concern of the Party and State leaders and of the General Secretary and President personally for the diplomatic sector and foreign affairs activities.

The appointed Ambassadors expressed their joy at setting out to take up their duties in the context of the country entering the final stage to successfully complete the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, prepare for the 14th National Congress, enter the era of national growth, and realize the aspiration of the 100th anniversary of the country's founding.
The Ambassadors pledged to thoroughly grasp and closely follow the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, and the directions of leaders at all levels; contribute to concretizing Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization, promote cooperative relations with local partners, contribute to continuing to consolidate Vietnam's position, protect national interests and develop the country in the new period.
Presenting the appointment decisions and assigning tasks to the Ambassadors, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the General Secretary and President congratulated the comrades appointed as Ambassadors to the countries; affirming that this is an honor as well as a great responsibility entrusted by the Party, State and people.
The Ambassadors appointed this time are all in important regions and locations, including traditional friendly countries with very good relations and also new locations.

Sharing with the appointed Ambassadors about the advantages and difficulties, the General Secretary and President emphasized that Vietnam's position has been strengthened in the international arena; Vietnam actively and responsibly participates in multilateral forums. In particular, Vietnam has expanded relations and cooperation in all fields, not only through the State's foreign relations channel but also through the Party and people's diplomacy channels; not only in the fields of diplomacy but also in economics, culture, society, security, national defense, etc.
The General Secretary and President also pointed out that after 80 years of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the country has achieved many important achievements, but the need for development is still very great, there are still many difficulties, and the speed of development has not yet met the needs.
The goal of becoming a high-income industrialized country by 2045, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the country, is an extremely difficult task that requires the efforts of the entire nation.
In that context, the General Secretary and President affirmed that foreign affairs tasks are important, regular and comprehensive; the Ambassadors' tasks are in all aspects and fields of the country such as diplomacy, economy, culture, national defense, security, protection of national and ethnic rights and interests.
Ambassadors are not only bridges but also people who actually implement the Party and State's policies and take the lead on the foreign affairs front.
The General Secretary and President requested the appointed Ambassadors to promote the spirit of “self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, national pride,” to promote the spirit of new-era diplomacy commensurate with the historical and cultural stature and political and economic position of the country, to enhance the role and position of Vietnam in world politics, global economy, and human civilization, to create a solid premise to bring the country into a new era, an era of national growth, for a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, prosperous, civilized, happy Vietnam, steadily advancing towards socialism.
