General Secretary and President To Lam visits and works at the Vietnamese Embassy in China

On the evening of August 18, immediately after arriving in Beijing, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in China, met and talked with embassy staff, representatives of the community and Vietnamese students studying in China.

General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with members of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, took a souvenir photo next to the statue of Uncle Ho in the Embassy grounds.

Before the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with members of the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, offered flowers at the statue of Uncle Ho in the grounds of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.

At the meeting, reporting to the General Secretary, President and the delegation on the results of the Embassy's work and the situation of the Vietnamese community in China, Ambassador Pham Sao Mai said that in recent times, the Embassy has proactively and comprehensively implemented all aspects of political diplomacy, promoted high-level bilateral visits, cooperation mechanisms in various channels and fields; participated in the struggle to protect sovereignty and territory; protected the rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens; promoted economic diplomacy, cultural-tourism diplomacy; improved the quality of consular work, citizen protection in China, built the community, and supported Vietnamese people living, working and studying in China.

Ambassador Pham Sao Mai affirmed that this visit by General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation is of utmost importance, providing an opportunity for senior leaders of the two countries to continue exchanging strategies and setting out major orientations for developing relations between the two Parties and two countries in the coming time.

Ambassador Pham Sao Mai emphasized that the staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in China will strive to promote their role as a bridge for practical cooperation between the two countries, contributing to making the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance continuously develop, become more stable, practical and effective.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his pleasure to visit and work with the Vietnamese Embassy in China, talk to the staff of Vietnamese agencies in the area, representatives of the community, Vietnamese people and students in China; at the same time, he gave an overview of the country's situation and the context, purpose and significance of the State visit of the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that he will continue to inherit and promote the revolutionary achievements of the predecessor leaders and the country's achievements in recent times, in order to realize the country's development goals and vision through milestones identified in the Party's platform and guidelines.

In the field of foreign affairs, Comrade To Lam affirmed that Vietnam will continue to adhere to the Party's foreign policy, enriching, deepening and making more effective the practical relations with partners. Regarding China, Vietnam will continue to consolidate the achievements of the bilateral relationship over the past time, especially the tradition of cooperation between the two socialist countries, in exchanging experiences in Party governance, national governance and social governance.

From determining the new level and position of bilateral relations through recent high-level visits, it is necessary to concretize them into practical cooperation in various fields.

Vietnamese embassies and representative agencies abroad need to perform well their functions and tasks in realizing foreign policy, ensuring national and ethnic interests, making friends with all countries in the world, and contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
