All people join hands to build civilized cities

As a land with a long history, the economic, political, cultural and social center of Lam Thao district, in recent years, Lam Thao town has actively implemented the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas". Thanks to attracting the participation and support of all the people, up to now, the town has built and completed 9/9 criteria with 52/52 targets and criteria for a civilized urban town.

Lam Thao town currently has 2,444 households with 10,716 people, divided into 9 residential areas. The North borders Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, Thach Son commune; the East borders Chu Hoa commune (Viet Tri city); the South borders Son Vi and Phung Nguyen communes; the West borders Thao river. The town has a convenient traffic system, with National Highway 32C passing through; at the same time, it is the headquarters of agencies, units and many companies and enterprises.

The people in the area have a fairly uniform level of education, favorable economic conditions with an average income of nearly 80 million VND/person/year, and a low poverty rate (0.79%). This is also a locality with a dense concentration of relics, preserving many cultural values ​​of the Hung Kings period, with 19 religious and belief establishments, of which 6 relics are ranked as historical relics at the provincial and national levels; in particular, Nha Ba Temple still preserves a translated version of the original Chinese version, 26 royal decrees in Chinese, and a list of the deification of 14 people in the family of Princess Nguyet Cu and her husband Ly Van Lang.

Tan Son Cultural House has been renovated to meet the community needs of the people.

In order to preserve, conserve and promote local cultural values, develop and improve the quality of cultural and sports activities, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" associated with the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", the town has diversified information and propaganda activities to effectively serve political tasks. Since then, people's awareness has been raised. Up to now, 100% of households have smart audio-visual equipment, 100% of households use clean water, hygienic water according to regulations, 100% of households have broadband Internet subscriptions.

The socialization work, mobilizing resources to invest in building cultural institutions and serving cultural, sports and physical training activities have been unanimously responded to and actively participated by the people. The rate of cultural families in the town in recent years has always reached 99% or more. The school system has all met national standards, of which Cao Mai Primary School, Lam Thao Town Kindergarten, Lien Co Lam Thao Kindergarten have met national standards level 2, Cao Mai Secondary School has met national standards level 1.

In implementing the criteria for building a civilized urban town and a model civilized residential area with rich and diverse forms of propaganda, the town has mobilized the people to agree to clear the land, donate land, and move fences to implement key projects, projects to renovate, upgrade, and expand traffic routes.

The cultural house has all the necessary equipment to serve the movements and common activities of the residential area.

As a leading residential area in building a civilized and model urban area, during the implementation process, Tan Son area, Lam Thao town has always received the consensus of the majority of people. Comrade Dam Duy Bay - Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of Tan Son area shared: Starting to build a civilized and model urban area from 2023, despite many difficulties in funding, realizing that the cultural house of the area had degraded, the Party Committee, Party Cell, departments and organizations in the area have mobilized people to join hands to contribute to building and repairing the cultural house of the area. Currently, the area has a spacious cultural house with full functions including a hall, kitchen, toilets, a concrete yard of more than 2,000m2, a brick-paved yard of 1,000m2, and an outdoor stage of over 100m2. The total cost of renovating the cultural house is more than 800 million, not including labor and materials that families support. The area also mobilized people to support the loudspeaker amplification system in the cultural house, installed 17 security cameras and 5 solar-powered lights to help improve the effectiveness of ensuring security and order in the area.

Traffic routes in Lam Thao town are expanded and upgraded to meet people's travel needs.

Not only in Tan Son area, in the remaining areas, the work of building a civilized urban area has also received the support of the majority of the people. The whole town has mobilized people to donate over 3,100m2 of land and 1,500 working days, demolishing 3,982m2 of fences to expand traffic roads. From 2023 to now, the total mobilized resources for building a civilized urban area in the town is 402,618 billion VND, of which the provincial budget is 7.5 billion VND, the district budget is over 301 billion VND, the town budget is over 72 billion VND; mobilized from the people are 14,850 billion VND and 34,240 working days worth nearly 6.85 billion VND.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Lan Khuyen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Town People's Council said: Through self-assessment of the total criteria for a civilized urban town, by December 2024, the town had built and completed 9/9 criteria with 52/52 targets, reaching 100% of the plan. The whole town currently has 9/9 residential areas recognized by the District People's Committee as a model civilized area. This result was achieved thanks to the Party Committee and the town government closely following the leadership and direction of the District Party Committee and the District People's Committee, focusing on leading and directing Party cells and residential areas from many directions. The implementation process ensured publicity, democracy, people knowing, people discussing, people doing, people checking, people benefiting, so it was highly supported by the people. In the coming time, Lam Thao town will continue to implement the Program for building a civilized urban area associated with effectively restructuring industry, handicrafts, trade and services. Maintain and improve the quality of criteria for building civilized urban towns and model civilized residential areas, improving people's lives.
