Building a sustainable world is the mission of global humanitarian organizations. Peace Winds, with more than 20 years of operation, marked an important milestone in Southeast Asia when appointing a plenipotentiary representative in Vietnam.
Global mission and opportunity with Vietnam Peace Winds was established in Japan in 1996 with the goal of providing humanitarian assistance, mitigating the consequences of natural disasters and building sustainable communities. After many years of operating in Vietnam through relief projects, the organization decided to upgrade its presence by finding a plenipotentiary representative. This not only demonstrates the organization's long-term vision but also creates conditions for more effective implementation of activities in Vietnam.
Ms. Dang Thi Hien - Plenipotentiary Representative of Peace Winds Vietnam.
Ms. Dang Thi Hien, who was appointed as the plenipotentiary representative of Peace Winds in Vietnam, shared that the organization continues to prioritize projects to support communities severely affected by natural disasters, while expanding sustainable development programs. Over the years, Peace Winds has implemented many programs that have brought positive impacts to provinces, including Yen Bai province, one of the provinces severely damaged by Typhoon Yagi. In August, thanks to the connection of the Japan-Vietnam Special Friendship Ambassador, Mr. Sugi Ryotaro, Ms. Dang Thi Hien and all staff of Peace Winds, they implemented a free liver examination project for people in Nghia Lo, Yen Bai. In September, when Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) caused severe flooding, Peace Winds, Ms. Hien and her colleagues quickly provided necessities to the affected people, leaving an impression with their dedication and timely response.

Not stopping at disaster relief, Peace Winds in Vietnam also focuses on long-term development programs such as: Education: supporting school construction, providing scholarships for students in difficult circumstances. Health: strengthening medical facilities in remote areas, ensuring people have access to basic health care services. Livelihood development: creating conditions for people to improve their lives through skills training programs and supporting sustainable livelihoods.
Ms. Rika Yamamoto - ASEAN Director of Peace Winds Japan and a volunteer group visited and gave gifts to poor students.
Specifically, at the end of November, the Peace Winds team and Ms. Dang Thi Hien also surveyed and presented gifts to schools in remote areas where learning and living conditions are still lacking. Participating directly, Ms. Rika Yamamoto, ASEAN Director of Peace Winds Japan, highly appreciated the dedication and efficiency of Ms. Hien and her colleagues. These unexpected achievements have significantly contributed to the decision to establish Peace Winds Vietnam. Ms. Rika Yamamoto also believes that, with Ms. Dang Thi Hien's leadership, Peace Winds in Vietnam will not only enhance its ability to respond to natural disasters but also bring sustainable values, contributing to building a better future for the community. Peace Winds strives for Vietnam's future From November 29 to December 1, in Hiroshima, Japan, Peace Winds coordinated with international partners to organize a training course on "Medical rescue in disasters with multi-agency coordination", with the participation of Ms. Dang Thi Hien - representative of the organization in Vietnam. The program aims to improve emergency response skills and cooperation between organizations, help learn from Japan's experience and call for international support for Vietnam. Ms. Hien emphasized the importance of preparedness and community solidarity in disaster situations.

The Peace Winds organization in Vietnam promises to become a bridge bringing humanistic values, contributing to sustainable development and peace. This is the beginning of a new journey, where faith and hope are spread everywhere.
