Responding to and implementing activities to celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21), the Ministry of Information and Communications in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee will organize the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day on the evening of April 17 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam. The program will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television.

The program is expected to have the participation of nearly 60 publishing and book distribution units nationwide, bringing book lovers many attractive exchange programs and events, diverse in genres and quantity of publications, promising to become a festival for readers and book lovers. In Hanoi, opening a series of activities to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2024; at the same time celebrating the 7th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Book Street (May 1, 2017 - May 1, 2024), on the morning of April 17, at Hanoi Book Street (December 19 Street), the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District launched a Book Fair with the theme "Nurturing knowledge - Creating the future".
Coming to Hanoi Book Street this April, readers will be able to participate in and experience many interesting and attractive activities such as: Book introduction program, exchange with authors, works, culture, art, instruction on reading skills, developing skills in searching, exploiting and using information; Drawing contest based on the content of the book I love with the message "Nurturing knowledge - Creating the future" for primary and secondary school students in Hoan Kiem district and Hanoi city; artistic book arrangement contest for publishing units participating in activities at Book Street; launching a movement to donate books to the community bookshelf "Ship of Knowledge" of Hanoi Book Street... In addition, districts, towns and cities are also actively and proactively building plans to respond to the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2024 locally with many diverse and rich forms with the aim of encouraging and making the reading movement a habit and cultural beauty among all classes of people in the capital.
Activities to implement the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2024 are responded to and implemented by agencies and units throughout the city. According to the Plan, the Department of Culture and Sports is assigned to direct the organization of response activities at the Hanoi Library and the system of district, county and town libraries. The Department of Education and Training directs activities responding to Book Day in the school system at all levels of the city. Schools research and organize for students to visit and experience the Book Fair to celebrate the 3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day - 2024 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam. The City Youth Union organizes response activities associated with the activities of the City Youth Union and Student Association, building and developing the reading movement among youth union members, students and young people.
