A fishing boat sank in Binh Thuan province, causing 9 people to fall into the sea, 8 people were lucky to escape, one person was confirmed dead.

On the evening of June 4, the Border Guard Station of Phu Quy Port (Phu Quy island district, Binh Thuan province) said that the bodies of fishermen in the sinking fishing boat incident that caused 9 fishermen to fall into the sea had been found.

Specifically, at 1:30 p.m. the same day, fishing boat BTh 99797TS, capacity 500CV, with 10 crew members, owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chi (born 1978, residing in Phu Quy island district), discovered a dead body and organized to bring it ashore.

Authorities and fishing boats search for missing crew members

Through identification, the body found was that of Mr. TVT (residing in Phu Quy island district) who went missing in the shipwreck that occurred on the evening of June 3.

As reported by SGGP Newspaper, on the evening of June 3, fishing boat BTh 97155TS with 9 workers, captained by Mr. Van Thanh Sy (born in 1989, residing in Phu Quy district), set sail when it encountered big waves and strong winds, causing the boat to sink.

Immediately after the accident, 8 fishermen on the boat jumped into the sea to swim to shore to escape, the remaining fisherman, Mr. T., was missing.
