Continuing activities within the framework of the working visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia at the invitation of Mr. Sar Sokha, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on January 24, General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security and the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam paid a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister of the Royal Government Hun Manet.
Welcoming the working visit to Cambodia by Minister To Lam and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that the visit is of great significance in contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries in general and between Cambodian law enforcement agencies and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet sent his regards and New Year greetings to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
Prime Minister Hun Manet highly appreciated the results of the successful talks between the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security; hoped that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation in the fields of crime prevention and control, especially drug crimes, high-tech crimes, cooperation in the field of digital transformation, and support to improve law enforcement capacity. Coordinate to resolve legal documents for people of Vietnamese origin living in Cambodia; resolutely not allow hostile and reactionary elements to take advantage of the territory of one country to sabotage the other.

Congratulating Cambodia on the important achievements in national construction and development in recent times, Minister To Lam expressed his belief that under the wise reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, Prime Minister Hun Manet will continue to inherit and promote the achievements of the previous generation, lead the young leadership team, and continue to foster the cooperative relationship of "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability" between the two countries in general, and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia in particular.

Minister To Lam emphasized that at the talks between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior, the two sides assessed the results of cooperation in 2023 and set out directions for cooperation in 2024, in which they agreed to continue to give the highest priority to ensuring national security, maintaining social order and safety of the two countries, closely coordinating to build a peaceful, stable and developed border area in accordance with the wishes of the people of the two countries; not allowing hostile forces, organizations and individuals to take advantage of the territory of one country to sabotage the other.

Minister To Lam suggested that in his new position, the direct Supreme Advisor to the King of Cambodia, Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng, continue to pay much attention and support to the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Cambodian Ministry of Interior; and propose major and strategic directions in security and order cooperation between the two ministries.

* At the meeting with General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Army and Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie of Cambodia, Minister To Lam and Mr. Sao Sokha agreed that over the past time, the cooperative relationship between the two countries has been increasingly consolidated and developed in both breadth and depth in all fields, in which cooperation in the field of security and defense has always been valued and promoted by leaders at all levels.
