The National Assembly Standing Committee agreed to prosecute and temporarily detain delegate Le Thanh Van.

Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong informed about the National Assembly Standing Committee's permission to prosecute, temporarily detain, search the residence and workplace; and temporarily suspend the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy of Mr. Le Thanh Van.

Specifically, on July 10, the National Assembly Standing Committee passed Resolution 1090, agreeing to the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy to prosecute, temporarily detain, and search the residence and workplace of Mr. Le Thanh Van, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, and a delegate of the 15th National Assembly.

At the same time, the National Assembly Standing Committee also temporarily suspended the performance of duties and powers of a National Assembly deputy for Mr. Le Thanh Van from the date of the decision to prosecute the accused.

Mr. Le Thanh Van was born in 1964, from Thanh Hoa. He was a National Assembly delegate for the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms and a standing member of the Finance and Budget Committee for the 14th and 15th terms.
