After the arrangement, the Ministry of Construction may increase 4 more Deputy Ministers.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has just resolved to increase the number of deputy ministers and deputy heads of ministerial-level agencies of ministries and ministerial-level agencies. In particular, the Ministry of Construction, after merging with the Ministry of Transport, can increase by 4 deputy ministers so that the total number of deputy ministers does not exceed 9.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued Resolution No. 1402/NQ-UBTVQH15 on increasing the number of deputy ministers and deputy heads of ministerial-level agencies.

The National Assembly Standing Committee resolved to increase the number of deputy ministers and deputy heads of ministerial-level agencies of ministries and ministerial-level agencies to meet the requirements of personnel arrangement and assignment when streamlining the State apparatus.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man has just signed and issued 11 Resolutions of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly.

Specifically, increase 1 more deputy minister so that the total number of deputy ministers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is no more than 7; increase 4 more deputy ministers so that the total number of deputy ministers of the Ministry of Finance is no more than 9; increase 4 more deputy ministers so that the total number of deputy ministers of the Ministry of Construction is no more than 9; increase 2 more deputy ministers so that the total number of deputy ministers of the Ministry of Home Affairs is no more than 7; increase 1 more deputy governor so that the total number of deputy governors of the State Bank of Vietnam is no more than 6.

This Resolution comes into force from February 6, 2025.

According to the plan of the Government Party Committee reporting to the Central Steering Committee on the summary of Resolution 18 approved by the Central Committee, the Ministry of Finance will merge with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to form the Ministry of Finance with 69,400 civil servants and 17,600 officials, the largest in the Government sector.

After merging into the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport have 23 focal points (a reduction of 19); 2,704 civil servants and 6,086 public employees.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development merged with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to form the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment with 30 focal points (reduced by 25); 2,890 civil servants and 12,203 public employees.

The Ministry of Home Affairs merged with the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to form the Ministry of Home Affairs, with 22 focal points (down 13); 891 civil servants and 4,313 public employees. The Ministry of Information and Communications merged with the Ministry of Science and Technology to form the Ministry of Science and Technology, with 26 focal points (down 16); 1,072 civil servants and 2,312 public employees.

The Ministry of Justice has 20 focal points (down 5) with 9,095 civil servants and 428 public employees. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has 22 focal points (down 6) with 1,398 civil servants and 7,858 public employees.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has 30 focal points. After taking over the State management function of press and publishing from the Ministry of Information and Communications and reorganizing it, there are 25 focal points with 910 civil servants and 4,850 public employees.

The State Bank has 19 focal points (down 4), rearranged 63 provincial branches to 15 branches; has 4,922 civil servants, 1,175 public employees.

Currently, the Ministry of Finance has 4 deputy ministers, the Ministry of Planning and Investment has 4 deputy ministers, the Ministry of Construction has 5, the Ministry of Transport has 4 deputy ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has 5 deputy ministers, the Ministry of Home Affairs has 3 deputy ministers, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has 5 deputy ministers and the State Bank has 5 deputy governors.
