At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung highlighted the results of cooperation between Vietnam and New Zealand, emphasizing that defense and security cooperation is one of the important pillars in bilateral relations; highly appreciated the role of the Vietnam Defense Attaché Office in Australia and New Zealand and military officers and students studying and working in New Zealand in promoting defense cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung expressed his hope that, in his position, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong will pay attention to, create conditions for, lead and direct the defense attaché office and officers and soldiers to successfully complete their assigned tasks, contributing positively and effectively to the Vietnam-New Zealand defense cooperation relationship in particular and the cooperation relationship between the two countries in general.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong suggested that in the coming time, the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in New Zealand continue to fully and deeply grasp the viewpoints, policies and foreign policies of the Party and State, actively contributing to the increasingly developing Vietnam - New Zealand Strategic Partnership, for the benefit of the two countries as well as peace, stability and cooperation in the region and the world.
