In talks on drafting a final statement on shipping issues, the US is demanding “strong” language against China, while being soft on Russia, according to sources.
According to the draft, Washington is asking to remove the word "sanctions" related to Moscow from the joint communique.
The US has reportedly rejected a Canadian proposal to set up a task force to monitor the “underground tanker fleet” that the West accuses Russia of using to evade sanctions on energy exports.
