Vietnam Sunny Impact Startup (VSIS) - A social impact startup acceleration training program for students of Vietnamese universities and colleges is organized with the desire to create a better world through youth startup projects.
The VSIS program is the only impact startup accelerator program for students, with the goal of welcoming outstanding project teams to participate in the annual Student Startup Idea Competition SV-Startup organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, providing in-depth knowledge, and is also the only program to date that provides seed capital to help student startup teams clearly develop products and bring them to market, in addition to solving prominent social and environmental issues in Vietnam.
The program is organized by The Happiness Foundation of SK Group, Korea and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, implemented by the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID). 2023 is the first year VSIS is organized in a 3-year overall program between The Happiness Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Training.

VSIS 2023 will run from December 2023 to August 2024 with the aim of supporting students in developing social impact startup projects. 10 startup groups will be selected from the top 50 student startup idea competitions organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Participating in the VSIS 2023 program, startup groups have completed 10 online training courses, participated in 1 bootcamp in Hanoi, each group was accompanied by 2 startup advisors and participated in training activities, exchanges and visits to startups. These activities not only provide knowledge but also equip young people with the necessary skills in the startup process.
The program has two pitching events. The first event took place in May 2024 and awarded a total of 115 million VND to the 4 best teams. Next, the Demo Day Closing Ceremony was also held at the NIC Hanoi International Innovation Center building. The event is a place for student startup groups to demonstrate their learning and development results during the 8 months of participating in the program, and at the same time connect and learn from experts, partners and potential investors.
Attending the event were representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, The Happiness Foundation, the Institute for Innovation and Development (IID) and jury members who are representatives of investment funds, startups in related fields and experts, consultants, competition teams...
With a unique and meaningful idea and convincing presentation and Q&A, Crystella group from Phinekaa University won the first prize with a seed capital of 50 million VND for the project "Science Kit" for young people. Crystella group's project focuses on applying technology to create innovative educational products, helping students access knowledge more easily and effectively. Crystella group representative shared: "The VSIS 2023 program has helped us realize our dream of starting a business, creating value and having a positive impact on education. We express our gratitude for the knowledge and support from the program, which has helped our project become more systematic and strategic".
The other 3 startup groups in the top 4 best teams also received capital of 40 million VND and 35 million VND.

Promoting youth entrepreneurship
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Xuan An Viet - Deputy Director of the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs (Ministry of Education and Training), Standing Member of the Project Coordination Board, highly appreciated the activities of providing capital, supporting and monitoring the use of capital by start-up groups and emphasized the importance of promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship and equipping knowledge and skills for students during their study time.
Mr. Choi Joo Il - Director of The Happiness Foundation Vietnam office expressed: "We believe that these small efforts will create a strong spread, bringing positive changes not only in Vietnam but also around the world. The 9 startup groups at this event have made efforts throughout the competition, showing remarkable progress. This is the beginning of further successes".
In addition to supporting startup projects, the VSIS program also hopes to create a dynamic and creative startup community. Projects participating in the program are highly applicable and have the potential to create positive impacts on society.
