Opening of Vietnam National Brand Week 2025

On the morning of April 16, in Hanoi, the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) held the opening ceremony of Vietnam National Brand Week 2025 and the Vietnam National Brand International Forum 2025 with the theme "Vietnam National Brand: Breakthrough from innovation and creativity" in a combination of in-person and online formats.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that national brand is an intangible asset with strategic value, reflecting the overall competitiveness and position of a country in the integration process. In recent years, with the leadership of the Party, the management of the Government and the support of enterprises, the Vietnam National Brand has made impressive progress.

According to Brand Finance, in 2024, the value of Vietnam's National Brand will be valued at 507 billion USD, ranking 32nd in the world - up 1 place compared to 2023. This is a proud result, affirming the effectiveness of the economic development and deep integration policy that we have steadfastly pursued.

Innovation in building and developing national brands

The Vietnam National Brand Program – approved by the Government in 2003 and assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to preside over implementation – is a unique, long-term and unique trade promotion program at the national level. With core values: Quality – Innovation – Pioneering capacity, the Program has contributed to supporting businesses in building strong brands, enhancing the reputation of Vietnamese goods and services in the international market.

In particular, in the context of transforming the growth model based on science, technology and innovation, the role of national brands becomes more urgent. This year's forum with the theme "Vietnam's national brand - Breakthrough from innovation and creativity" continues to affirm strategic thinking and long-term vision in building national brands in the new era.

Innovation is the key to improving productivity and quality, while creating sustainable differentiation in a fiercely competitive global environment. In the context of strong technological development, widespread digital economy, and the trend of green - clean - smart consumption, Vietnamese enterprises need to proactively adapt and pioneer innovation.

The forum is an opportunity for management agencies, experts, scientists and the domestic and foreign business community to exchange, share experiences and create solutions to enhance the capacity of Vietnamese brands globally.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan emphasized that with the attention of the Party and State; the synchronous participation of all levels and sectors; and the efforts of enterprises, the Vietnam National Brand will continue to develop strongly, making practical contributions to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

Also at the opening ceremony, the Trade Promotion Agency organized a seminar: "Innovation - The driving force for breakthroughs in Vietnam's national brand"

Along with providing information on the current state of innovation in Vietnam and its role in enhancing national brand value, experts shared international experiences on innovation and national branding, and proposed solutions to promote innovation in businesses and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese products/services. The role of stakeholders (Government, businesses, research institutes, universities, etc.) in building a national innovation ecosystem was also discussed at the seminar.

Within the framework of the event, the Organizing Committee will hold a photo exhibition on the achievements of the Vietnam National Brand at the opening ceremony venue. At the same time, it will carry out communication and promotion activities nationwide to raise public awareness of the role of brands in sustainable development and international integration.

The Vietnam National Brand Program was approved by the Prime Minister in 2003, with the long-term goal of promoting Vietnam's image associated with the quality of goods and services, business reputation and national competitiveness.

After more than two decades, Vietnamese brands are gradually asserting their position in the international market. In the context of fierce global economic competition, “breaking through innovation and creativity” is not just a slogan but must become the philosophy of action of each Vietnamese enterprise.

In response to Vietnam Brand Day and to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the Prime Minister officially choosing April 20 as Vietnam Brand Day (April 20, 2008 - April 20, 2025), the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinates with agencies, organizations and localities nationwide to organize Vietnam National Brand Week 2025 from April 15 to 21, 2025, with many meaningful activities nationwide.
