In the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Hoan Kiem... in Hanoi , many coffee shops have taken on a new look with the main colors being red and yellow - two tones associated with the image of the national flag.
Popular decorations include the national flag, the Party flag, the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, along with slogans and propaganda posters... Some shops also use a map of a unified Vietnam or images of tanks, creating a feeling reminiscent of the atmosphere of victory day.

Ms. Lam Thi Anh, manager of The Soul cafe, shared: “This year marks a very special milestone - the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day. We want to celebrate this important anniversary by spreading the spirit of victory through decorations with strong Vietnamese imprints, such as images of flags, newspaper stands, etc. Hopefully, these images will become closer to young people.” |
Not only focusing on space, the menu at these bars has also been adjusted to match the theme. Some drinks and dishes are named to evoke historical values or use images of national flags to create visual connections.

This is a new trend that has emerged in recent years and has been responded to by many people as a way to show concern and solidarity before the country's significant historical and cultural anniversary.
During the holiday season, these cafes attract hundreds of visitors every day, especially during peak hours. Many people come not only to enjoy drinks but also to experience the space imbued with cultural and historical significance. The sudden increase in visitors during the holiday season shows the appeal of this form of decoration, and also reflects the growing interest of the community, especially the youth, in traditional values.
