Youth Union chapters at all levels in the province have implemented many effective solutions such as supporting youth union members to borrow capital, opening training classes, promoting career counseling, job introduction... Thanks to that, it has aroused the spirit of entrepreneurship and career establishment among youth union members with highly effective economic development models.
With the support and assistance of the Ha Vinh Commune Youth Union (Ha Trung), since 2019, realizing that his family's rice-growing land did not bring high economic efficiency, Mr. Vu Van Hiep switched to the snail farming model. After many years of implementation, the snail farming model has increasingly brought high efficiency, helping his family have a stable income and improve their lives. Mr. Hiep said: "At first, I was also very hesitant when deciding to invest in raising snails. However, through research, I realized that the market demand for snails is increasing. And with the help of the Ha Vinh commune youth union, who created conditions for me to attend training courses on economic development, and to visit effective economic development models of young people in the province, I boldly invested in 5 ponds, 3 nursery tanks, breeding tanks, and installed light bulbs to incubate snail eggs... The investment cost for raising snails is not much, but the process of raising snails also encountered many difficulties because snails mainly eat natural foods such as vegetables, tubers, and fruits... When raising snails, we must also choose a clean, unpolluted water source, regularly clean the pond, periodically treat the water environment with lime water, and create a cool space in the summer and warm in the winter. Every year, my family raises 2 to 3 crops, providing 2 to 3 tons of commercial snails for the factories. restaurants, hotels in and outside the province and more than 1 million snails for models in the province. In addition, I also cooperate with snail farmers in the province to buy snails to process snail products to supply the market such as snail sausage, shelled stuffed snails...".
In addition to Mr. Hiep's snail farming model, currently in Ha Trung district, there are many economic development models of young people that bring high efficiency such as Nam Chi crispy rice production model of Mr. Le Ngoc Linh (Ha Chau commune); chicken farming model of Mr. Hoang Anh Tu (Ha Linh town); pineapple growing model of Ms. Hoang Thi Kieu Oanh (Ha Long town).
Mr. Nguyen Bao Trung, Secretary of Ha Trung District Youth Union, said: To promote the spirit of entrepreneurship and career establishment among young people, Ha Trung District Youth Union has implemented many flexible and creative solutions and methods such as: coordinating with the People's Committee of Ha Trung District to organize a "Job Exchange" at the District Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center; organizing career counseling and job introduction for young people and students; launching the contest "Startup ideas among young people in Thanh Hoa province" to a large number of young people in the district... In addition, in 2024, the District Youth Union also reviewed 26 economic models led by young people and proposed the District Social Policy Bank to appraise them for loans to start up and develop the economy, with a total outstanding debt of 1.85 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhat, Head of the Movement Department, Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union, said: In recent years, the Provincial Youth Union has directed all levels of the provincial Youth Union to focus on promoting communication activities on start-ups and entrepreneurship for young people. Launching the movement "Youth start-ups and entrepreneurship"; organizing "Start-up ideas" and "Start-up projects" competitions among young people; organizing training conferences, disseminating knowledge about start-ups, forums "Starting businesses and entrepreneurship"; strengthening connections to support start-up projects from idea competitions, start-up projects with investors... In 2024, the whole province had nearly 116,000 young people and students receiving career counseling, nearly 41,000 young people were introduced to jobs, of which nearly 26,000 young people had jobs; coordinating the organization of 33 vocational training classes for young people; 1,263 ideas, initiatives, and 35 creative startup projects of young people were supported to be realized.
The review and management of loan capital and improvement of the quality of loan capital groups managed by youths are carried out regularly. As of November 15, 2024, the total entrusted loan capital managed by the Youth Union reached 1,712.5 billion VND. The total disbursement from the Preferential Credit Fund to support youth start-ups reached 71.6 billion VND. Thanks to that, in 2024, the whole province had 289 enterprises and business establishments owned by youths, 20 newly established youth economic development clubs.
The program accompanies young people in starting and establishing businesses, encouraging, guiding, and supporting young people to develop the economy, increase income, and stabilize their lives. Thereby, it also creates favorable conditions for young people to promote their capacity, intelligence, and creativity, contributing to promoting local socio-economic development.
