Ship fined for letting passengers play pickleball on deck then jump into the sea

According to the penalty decision, the owner of the Black Pear ship numbered QN-6699 organized a game of pickleball on the deck. During the game, a player jumped out to catch the ball and jumped into Ha Long Bay without wearing a life jacket.

This action endangers the lives and health of passengers on board. At the same time, it affects the tourism image of the locality and needs to be controlled by specialized, professional units and in compliance with legal regulations.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh, the above behavior is a violation of the provisions of Clause 2, Article 7, Decree No. 46/2019/ND-CP on administrative violations in the field of sports.

The owner of the cruise ship was not subject to aggravating circumstances because he had removed all the pickleball court tarps on the deck after the incident occurred.
