Ha Tinh, Ha Giang: Focus on ensuring power supply for the hot season of 2025

According to the forecast from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from April 18, temperatures will increase, possibly reaching 35-36°C in many areas, especially in Hanoi and the Northern Delta provinces. This heat wave will put great pressure on the power system as demand for electricity is forecast to increase sharply, especially during the peak days of summer.

Ha Tinh: Synchronously deploying many solutions to provide safe electricity

To ensure stable power supply in harsh weather conditions, Ha Tinh Power Company (PC Ha Tinh) has been focusing all its efforts on implementing synchronous solutions in technical management - operation, business and construction investment to ensure power supply during the hot season.

It is expected that in April 2025, Ha Tinh's electricity consumption will increase by about 5% compared to the same period in 2024 and will continue to increase dramatically in the coming months. Grasping the weather forecast and the demand for load growth, from the beginning of March 2025, PC Ha Tinh has directed its affiliated units to mobilize human resources, organize a general inspection, and review the entire system to promptly detect and handle existing problems and defects in the power grid.

Check and maintain electrical wiring to ensure safe power supply.

At the same time, units are required to make a list and plan to rotate overloaded transformers, perform phase balancing and load sharing, and prevent phase deviation from overloading transformers and overloading wires; replace long-term operating transformers; upgrade wire cross-sections, replace materials and equipment that do not ensure operation... to avoid the risk of incidents when the load suddenly increases.

In addition, the Company has requested units to strengthen day and night inspections, combined with the use of supporting equipment such as Flycam, thermal cameras, and discharge meters; actively promote the application of insulation cleaning technology and hot electrical repair on the grid. The inspection and supervision of work on the grid as well as the implementation of procedures and regulations on labor safety and fire prevention... are also seriously disseminated and vigorously deployed by the Company to units.

In the first 3 months of the year, the entire Company replaced and increased the capacity of 141 long-term operating transformers; handled 718 defects on the grid; and renovated 53 distribution transformer stations, 41.3km of high-medium voltage lines and 34.5km of low-voltage lines.

Regularly check equipment on medium voltage lines and at distribution transformer stations to promptly correct system defects.

In addition to implementing synchronous technical solutions to improve the reliability of power supply, especially to prevent grid overload during the hot season, PC Ha Tinh has made efforts to put into use 17 projects to prevent overload and reduce power loss.

Through the invested construction works and projects, the power grid in Ha Tinh will be gradually upgraded and comprehensively renovated, thereby improving the quality of electricity, meeting the production and living needs of the people, contributing to the implementation of the socio-economic development goals of the locality.

Along with the above activities, PC Ha Tinh promoted propaganda activities, instructions to disseminate knowledge and skills on safe, economical and efficient use of electricity to customers. At the same time, launched the emulation movement "Family saves electricity" to all staff and customers in the whole province; coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Education and Training to organize the program "Schools join hands to save electricity"; Contest "Learning knowledge about economical and efficient use of energy in schools" at schools in the area.

Ha Giang strengthens solutions to ensure power supply during hot season

Propaganda and guidance for people and customers to use electricity safely and economically

According to Mr. Tran Van Bang - Director of PC Ha Giang, right from the first months of the year, the Company's leaders have directed functional departments and affiliated units to strengthen technical management, regularly monitor the operation status of power lines and transformer stations to deploy specific solutions to inspect, organize reviews, and re-evaluate the overall status of the power grid system. At the same time, combine the use of thermal cameras and flycams to check the contact of joints and equipment on medium voltage lines and at distribution transformer stations, especially lightning protection systems, repair and replace damaged power poles due to natural disasters, increase the phase-to-ground distance of 35kV medium voltage lines that do not ensure the prescribed safety distance...

Along with technical management and operation, the Company also focuses on coordinating with local authorities to promote propaganda on economical electricity use, instructing people on safe, efficient and energy-saving electricity use.

The synchronous implementation of solutions in saving electricity, adjusting and shifting electricity loads, and promoting electricity saving by Ha Giang and Ha Tinh Electricity will contribute to joining hands with the Electricity industry to reduce difficulties in supplying electricity, meeting the increasing electricity demand of customers, especially during the hot season this year.
