The Ministry of Public Security has just issued admission guidelines for 2025. Accordingly, police schools will continue to use 3 admission methods including:
- Direct admission of students who have won national and international competitions according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security;
- Consider the results of the Ministry of Public Security's assessment exam combined with international language certificates;
- Consider assessment scores with high school graduation exam results.
Regarding combinations, police schools recruit with 15 combinations (an increase of 8 combinations compared to last year), in which many combinations include Information Technology and Technology subjects.
Details of 15 admission combinations to police schools in 2025:
STT | Combination code | Subject |

The admission score is still the total score of the 3 subjects in the admission group to the Police Academy (accounting for 40%) and the assessment test score of the Ministry of Public Security converted to a 30-point scale (accounting for 60%) rounded to 2 decimal places, plus priority points, regions and bonus points.
A notable point is that in the method of using international foreign language certificates, this year's police schools will consider combining them with the assessment test instead of combining them with the academic transcript scores like last year. The schools also stop directly recruiting candidates with IELTS 7.5 or higher, but convert them into scores for admission, applicable to candidates with IELTS 5.5 or equivalent certificates. Candidates applying for this method must have a good or higher high school transcript, and an average foreign language score of 7 or higher.
This year, candidates will register for the exam at the commune-level police station where they registered their permanent residence, as the district-level police station has been removed. The commune-level police station will issue a certificate of completion of the exam registration and notify the preliminary exam schedule.
Regarding the enrollment period, candidates should register at schools before April 15. After April 15, continue to complete the application and conduct the preliminary selection. The commune-level police will organize the preliminary selection, ensuring that candidates meet the standards of politics, ethics, academic ability, and health, and complete before May 30.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Security issued a decision to allocate enrollment quotas for public security academies and schools in 2025. Of which, the total enrollment quota for full-time university is 2,200; for intermediate level, 300; and for second degree, 850.
