Dong Thap province leaders congratulate Chol Chnam Thmay in Pray Veng province

DTO - On the occasion of the upcoming traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year, on April 1, a delegation of Dong Thap province led by Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and extended New Year greetings in Pray Veng province, Kingdom of Cambodia. This is a locality bordering Dong Thap province.

Delegation of Dong Thap province visited and wished a Happy New Year to the government and people of Pray Veng province

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of Dong Thap province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan wished the government and people of Pray Veng province a happy and prosperous traditional New Year. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also expressed his joy at the encouraging results of the province's socio-economic development in recent times, and wished for the solidarity, cooperation and friendship between the two localities to be further strengthened and develop together, especially in the field of border trade and goods trading at international border gates.

Receiving and working with the delegation, Mr. Hy Thuok - Deputy Governor of Pray Veng thanked Dong Thap province for the good feelings, wishing the relationship between the two provinces to be increasingly strong. Chol Chnam Thmay is the biggest traditional New Year of the year in the land of pagodas. Cambodian people celebrate the New Year in a bustling, exciting atmosphere, with rituals taking place in pagoda grounds and fun and entertainment activities organized across the country. This year, Chol Chnam Thmay will take place from April 13 to 15.

The delegation visited the Khmer - Vietnam Association, Pray Veng province branch, to wish Happy New Year.

Previously, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan and members of the delegation visited the Khmer - Vietnam Association, Pray Veng province branch, to wish a Happy New Year at the Khmer - Vietnam Friendship Primary School in Pray Veng province. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent his regards and wishes for a happy Chol Chnam Thmay to overseas Vietnamese. He hoped that they would always unite and develop together. Comrade Huynh Minh Tuan also expressed his respect and encouragement to the teachers who are teaching Vietnamese here, who have made an important contribution to preserving the nation's language and writing for the next generation. There are about 200 students who are children of overseas Vietnamese studying at the Khmer - Vietnam Friendship Primary School in Pray Veng province - a school built with support from Dong Thap province.

The delegation also visited the officers and soldiers of Team K91 who are on duty in Pray Veng province. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan emphasized that the search and collection of martyrs' remains is a sacred task, hoping that the officers and soldiers will overcome difficulties in living conditions and weather in the neighboring country to best complete the assigned tasks.
