Neurologyca, Spain is working to develop emotional intelligence for AI, with the goal of "humanizing" AI, helping machines understand and interact with humans more naturally.
" Our mission is to make AI more human-friendly. AI is not just a computing tool, but also has the ability to understand and interact with humans in the most natural way, just like humans communicate with each other," said Juan Grana, CEO of Neurologyca.
Kopernica's AI system can analyze video to assess human emotions in real time, recognizing up to 92 types of emotions. The technology uses massive data and multimodal intelligence to "translate" emotional expressions into computer signals, opening up many potential applications in areas such as health, public safety and gaming.
Neurologyca hopes to advance emotional intelligence in AI, improving the way machines understand and interact with humans.
" When someone is likely to have a stroke or a brain hemorrhage, they start to exhibit unique emotional patterns that are not visible to the naked eye, but that we can capture with our technology. There are small movements in your face, dilation of the pupils, that we can predict weeks before something like this happens ," Fernandez said.
Neurologyca is working on ways to make it easier for other tech creators to use their tools in their own apps, as part of an effort to make emotion-reading AI more widely available through Kopernica, which emphasizes privacy and ethical AI.
“ We promise not to collect any information that could be used to personally identify you. Instead, all data is converted into random numbers, and these numbers are constantly changing,” Fernandez added.
According to Reuters, this system is being used in many fields such as health care, education, security and defense.
