On the afternoon of October 25, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Anthony Capuano, Chairman and CEO of Marriott Group (USA) - a multinational corporation in hotel, tourism, accommodation services... owning the world's largest hotel chain, 8,000 accommodation locations and nearly 1.5 million rooms in 139 countries and territories.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and highly appreciated the successes of Marriott Group in developing luxury resort hotel chains around the world as well as in Vietnam.

Affirming that Vietnam always considers the United States one of its top important partners, the Prime Minister wishes to continue developing relations with the United States in a sustainable, effective and trustworthy manner, in which economic, trade, investment and financial cooperation are identified as the main pillars and driving forces promoting relations between the two countries.

According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Vietnam advocates rapid and sustainable tourism development, considering it an important economic sector contributing to the economic development of the country in general and localities in particular; at the same time, creating the most favorable conditions for investors in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.

To strengthen cooperation in the coming time, the Prime Minister suggested that Marriott Group continue to implement plans to expand investment in the fields of tourism, hotel and resort services with large-scale projects suitable to Vietnam's conditions and attractive to international tourists.

The Group cooperates in training and developing high-quality human resources that meet international standards; connecting Vietnamese tourism with the region and the world, diversifying tourism products and supply chains, improving management capacity in the tourism industry; supporting and accompanying Vietnam in recovering and developing the tourism and air transport industry in the coming time...

Thanking the Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation, Marriott Group Chairman Anthony Capuano highly appreciated Vietnam's potential and advantages in tourism development with natural conditions, geographical location, many beautiful landscapes and unique culture, friendly and hospitable people, attractive and rich cuisine..., more and more tourists want to return to Vietnam.

Regarding Marriott Group's operations in Vietnam, Mr. Anthony Capuano said that Marriott is managing 16 hotels and resorts under 8 global brands such as JW Marriott, Le Meridien, Sheraton...

In the coming time, Marriott plans to expand its investment and business activities in Vietnam, aiming to open 20 more hotels and resorts in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang)...

The Chairman of Marriott Group pledged to continue expanding investment and long-term development in Vietnam, continue to convey the story of Vietnam, promote the image of Vietnam to attract more international tourists to Vietnam, contribute to promoting Vietnam's tourism industry, as well as promote cooperation in various fields.

The Group will use more high-quality Vietnamese human resources in its hotel system and actively implement social security activities in Vietnam as the Prime Minister has commented.
