On March 17, in London, UK, within the framework of the visit to the UK by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang met with Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK Catherine West.
Pleased to meet the Secretary of State again, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang thanked the UK Foreign Office for actively supporting and coordinating the organization of the visit of the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister. The Deputy Minister believes that the visit will be a great success, contributing to further deepening the strategic partnership and promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
For her part, Minister of State Catherine West assessed that Vietnam has achieved impressive economic development achievements. The British business community sees great potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries. The Minister of State also expressed her wish to return to visit Vietnam in the near future.
Informing the Secretary of State about Vietnam's plan to build an international financial center, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that through this visit by the Permanent Deputy Prime Minister, the Vietnamese delegation hopes to receive valuable sharing from the UK about experience and knowledge in this field as well as attract British businesses to build, develop and operate an international and regional financial center in Vietnam.

Minister of State Catherine West assessed the construction of a financial center in Vietnam as a right step and affirmed her readiness to support Vietnam in accessing British businesses operating in this field.
Discussing cooperation in responding to climate change, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the UK's role as Coordinator in establishing the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) between Vietnam and G7 countries and international partners.
The Deputy Minister suggested that the UK continue to urge G7 countries, international financial organizations and the private sector to support Vietnam in implementing the Resource Mobilization Plan (RMP) adopted at COP28 and support Vietnam in building and perfecting institutions, training human resources, accessing financial resources and technology to serve the green transition and sustainable development process in Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Secretary of State also learned about some relevant policies of Vietnam such as developing the investment environment, developing green energy, renewable energy...
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed many international and regional issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea issue.
