On March 17, at the headquarters of the Angolan National Agency for Petroleum and Biofuels (ANPG), Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc and officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola attended the signing ceremony of an investment project on joint research to explore oil and gas in the Estosha and Okavango basins in the Republic of Angola between the Xuan Thien Group of Vietnam and the Angolan National Agency for Petroleum and Biofuels.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of Xuan Thien Group and Mr. Paulino Jeronimo, Chairman of ANPG Board of Directors signed the agreement.
According to the agreement, Xuan Thien Group will invest 100% in a joint research project on exploration of the Estosha and Okavango basins with an area of 200,000 km2 spread over the three provinces of Cunene, Cuando and Cubango.
This is a large-scale inland basin that is highly valued by the Angolan Government. It has the potential to contain oil and gas, but so far has not been systematically, systematically and systematically researched and explored.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien, Chairman of Xuan Thien Group, emphasized that the enterprise considers Angola a strategic destination in its plan to expand investment to the international market.
Assessing that Xuan Thien Group's presence in Angola is the result of the Angolan Government's policy of attracting foreign investment, the attention and support of the Vietnamese Government and the accompaniment of the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola, Mr. Nguyen Van Thien considers this project an important contribution to the economic cooperation between the two countries as well as demonstrating the trust, commitment and sustainable cooperation between the two sides.
Chairman of Xuan Thien Group pledged that with extensive experience in implementing large-scale energy projects and a team of highly qualified experts, the enterprise will closely cooperate with ANPG to effectively implement the project; expressing confidence that the project will achieve important results.

Mr. Paulino Jeronimo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANPG, assessed that the implementation of the project by Xuan Thien Group is a strategic step of the Angolan Government in exploring oil reserves as well as demonstrating the Government's commitment to sustainable and competitive development.
Expressing his delight at having Xuan Thien Group, a Vietnamese enterprise with a lot of experience, technology and financial capacity, participate in this project, Mr. Paulino Jeronimo pledged to ensure a safe environment for the Group as well as maintain a mutually beneficial relationship between the Angolan Government and investors, and will continue to strive to make Angola an attractive and stable investment destination.

In his speech, Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc assessed that the signing ceremony is not only an important event for Xuan Thien Group and the Angolan National Petroleum and Biofuels Agency, but also an event that helps enhance the significance of 2025 - the time when the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
Xuan Thien Group's participation in the project is a concrete manifestation of the efforts of the Governments and businesses of the two countries in strengthening economic cooperation as stated by the senior leaders, leaders of ministries and sectors of the two countries and the 7th Intergovernmental Committee Meeting in March 2024.
Expressing his belief that this first oil and gas project of Xuan Thien Group in Angola will be a good start for the enterprise's long-term investment in this African country in the energy sector, and a driving force for other enterprises of the two countries to cooperate in the coming time in many fields; Ambassador Duong Chinh Chuc pledged that the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola will continue to accompany Vietnamese enterprises anytime, anywhere.

Angolan public opinion expressed interest in this event. Angolan Central Television ( TPA ) reported quite prominently, expressing optimism and appreciation for the project's contribution to Angola's development, especially in creating many jobs for local people.
After more than 20 years of establishment, growth and development, Xuan Thien Group has made great strides, becoming a multi-industry enterprise, developing stably and firmly, making a strong mark in many fields such as energy, production materials, agriculture, gradually implementing a circular ecosystem operating model according to green - clean - sustainable criteria, currently reaching out internationally, participating in major projects.
With an interest in Angola, since 2023, Xuan Thien Group has begun to approach and learn about the business environment and invest in a number of projects in this country.
