The Hydrometeorological Agency said cold air has affected most of the northeastern region of the North.

It is forecasted that on March 18, this cold air mass will continue to affect other places in the Northeast region; then affect the North Central region, the Northwest, the Central Central region and some places in the South Central region. Inland, the Northeast wind will strengthen to level 3, coastal areas will reach level 3-4, with gusts reaching level 6 in some places.

The North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue continue to be cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the North and North Central regions is generally between 13-16 degrees Celsius, with some places in the high mountainous areas of the North below 10 degrees Celsius; from Quang Binh to Hue, it is generally between 16-18 degrees Celsius.

In Hanoi area, the weather is cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 14-16 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of the cold air strengthening, the area from Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa has scattered rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places, locally heavy rain in some places.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind is strong at level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with rough seas and waves 2.0-3.0m high. In the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the Northeast wind is strong at level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, with rough seas and waves 3.0-5.0m high.

In the Central East Sea area, the sea area from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau and the western sea area of ​​the Southern East Sea area (including the western sea area of ​​Truong Sa archipelago), strong northeast wind level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough sea, waves 3.0-5.0m high.

The sea area from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa and the sea area east of the South China Sea (including the sea area east of Truong Sa archipelago) has northeast wind gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough sea, waves 2.0-4.0m high.

Highest temperature: 28-31 degrees Celsius.

Southern Vietnam

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening; sunny during the day, with some areas experiencing heat. Light winds. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees Celsius.

Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees Celsius, some places over 35 degrees Celsius.
