On the morning of August 28, Cua Lo town held a ceremony to celebrate its 30th anniversary (August 29, 1994 - August 29, 2024).

On August 29, 1994, the Government issued Decree No. 113 establishing Cua Lo town under Nghe An province.

During 30 years of construction, development and growth, the Party Committee, government and people of Cua Lo town have always upheld the spirit of solidarity; constantly worked, produced, created and innovated... to build a civilized and modern tourist city and one of the three high growth poles of Nghe An province.

In the process of construction and development, Cua Lo has achieved many good results. Accordingly, the political system has been consolidated and strengthened, the great solidarity of the people has been expanded. The urban appearance is increasingly spacious, clean, civilized with many entertainment areas of national and international stature.

Cua Lo Town is one of the three high growth poles of Nghe An province.

Over the past 30 years, the total production value in the town has increased 46 times, and the average income per capita has increased 82 times. Cua Lo is one of two localities in the province that can balance its budget revenue and expenditure. The local economic structure has shifted positively towards taking tourism and services as the key economic sector.

In 2024, the total number of tourists is estimated to reach 5 million, with revenue estimated to reach 5,000 billion VND.
