Forecasting the possibility of winning medals in the remaining competition days, head of the delegation Dang Ha Viet said that the Vietnamese sports delegation can still win 30 - 40 gold medals, of which the Olympic group is expected to win about 19 gold medals in judo, fencing, weightlifting, table tennis, women's football, men's football, wrestling... and the Asian Games and SEA Games groups will win about 15 gold medals in sports Aerobics, diving, boxing, arnis (stick martial arts), kick-boxing, rattan ball, traditional boat...
Aerobic won 3 gold medals on the first day
Responding to a press interview about some sports that have finished but have not yet completed their medal targets such as athletics, swimming or vovinam, a representative of the Vietnamese sports delegation said that after the COVID-19 pandemic, countries have better prepared their forces compared to the 31st SEA Games, so the level of competition is very fierce.
Head of delegation Dang Ha Viet believes that Vietnam will lead the congress.
The competition schedule was also adjusted continuously, so Vietnam missed the registered results in many events in swimming or athletics, not to mention the wave of naturalized athletes from other countries, which had a significant impact on the targets for each event and the overall target.
