Before the moment of transition from the old year to the new year of At Ty 2025, AFC has a new move mentioning Vietnamese football. On the official social networking site, the Asian football governing body posted a meaningful status: "Vietnamese Football 2025 - Really "hard" in the "snake" year, along with images of the national teams (men's, women's) and excellent clubs in the V-League.
Not only that, AFC also gave Vietnamese football a "rhyme": "Confident playing style - Strong and tough - Fresh appearance - Good luck".
It can be said that Vietnamese football has just experienced a successful year 2024, with the peak being the championship of the Southeast Asian Football Championship (AFF Cup 2024). At the end of the lunar year 2024, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team opened up a promising future, making many football fans always look forward to the talent of the Vietnamese team in 2025.
In the new year of At Ty, Vietnamese football will participate in many important arenas. In particular, the Vietnamese team will compete in the qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2027. Coach Kim Sang-sik is expected to face more challenges in the early stages of the continent's top tournament, when his squad is depleted. Key striker Nguyen Xuan Son suffered a serious injury at the AFF Cup 2024 and will certainly not be able to return in time to contribute to the Vietnamese team at the Asian Cup 2027, at least in the first leg of the group stage.
A playground that receives great attention that Vietnamese football will participate in is the 2025 Southeast Asian Games. The U.22 Vietnam team and the Vietnamese women's team will compete at the 33rd SEA Games, held in Thailand. The Vietnamese women's futsal team will compete in the 2025 Asian women's futsal finals, a tournament that will help the dream of participating in the World Cup. The U.17 Vietnam team will also compete in the 2025 Asian U.17 finals.
