QUANG NGAI - Bui Hui grassland has green grass carpets stretching as far as the eye can see, an ideal place for camping, cloud hunting, watching sunset and sunrise.

Located at an altitude of about 628 m above sea level, Bui Hui grassland in Ba Trang commune, Ba To district, is one of the most beautiful grasslands in Quang Ngai. In addition to the vast green grasslands, the grassland also has a sim hill of about 20 hectares, hills of guava trees that are decades old, and mountains stretching as far as the eye can see, according to the website of the Quang Ngai Provincial Youth Union.

The vast grassland area has no trees. The edge of the steppe has a few rows of tall bushes just above a person's head. Below the grassland are the terraced fields of the Hre people.

During the 45-day journey driving across the country from August 16 to October 9, the family of Nguyen Ngoc Minh, 28 years old, Soc Trang, had a night of camping, sleeping in a tent in the middle of the Bui Hui grassland.

From the center of Quang Ngai city, Mr. Minh drove a pickup truck about 60 km to Ba To district. Then he traveled more than 10 km of mountain pass to reach Bui Hui grassland.
Although the road is concreted, because it is a mountainous road, there are curves and bends, so visitors should pay attention. The road to the grassland is a dirt road but flat, suitable for both motorbikes and low-chassis and high-chassis cars.

Coming to Bui Hui in early autumn, the whole hill is green with young grass, followed by hills covered with green trees, interspersed between the valleys are villages. "A few clouds floating halfway down give the feeling of standing on the clouds," said Mr. Minh.

With beautiful natural scenery, cool and fresh climate, Bui Hui grassland is a favorite destination of many tourists. Located on high ground, this place has also become a place for cloud hunting, camping, watching sunset and sunrise for young backpackers.
On days with favorable weather, clear blue skies, and a sea of white clouds appear halfway up the distant mountain ranges. "Not as majestic as Ta Xua, Ha Giang, the sea of clouds in Bui Hui grassland has a more poetic and gentle beauty," said Mr. Minh.

There are not many tourist activities or services in Bui Hui grassland, so the place still retains its wild beauty. If you want to camp and stay overnight, you can prepare your own belongings or rent a tent or book a room from some of the surrounding accommodations.
People should choose a camping site, light a fire that does not affect the landscape and pay attention to cleaning up before leaving. Tourists can combine exploring the culture and cuisine of the Hre ethnic community living in Ba To district such as the gong performance art that has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, enjoy Tra river goby fish braised with pepper, grilled pork rolls, fish cake noodles, snails, rice paper, Tinh Khe pancakes, Mr. Minh suggested.

Each season, Bui Hui grassland has its own beauty. The third lunar month is the time when the guava hills, which are dozens of years old, ripen, with fruits as big as a thumb, attracting birds to eat the fruit. Around May and June, the purple color of thousands of sim flowers blooms over an area of more than 20 hectares. This is considered the most beautiful and poetic time of Bui Hui grassland.
