From July 16 to 30, 2023, more than 60 officers and soldiers of Battalion 40, Regiment 762, Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command (CHQS) conducted a field trip to do mass mobilization work and participate in new rural construction in Thanh Yen commune (Thach Thanh).

Thanh Yen is a particularly difficult mountainous commune of Thach Thanh district, located in the west, 29 km from the district center; the commune has 5 villages, 925 households with 3,760 people, of which the Muong ethnic group accounts for 97.5%. People here live together in harmony and warmth, relying on farming and forestry, but infrastructure conditions are still lacking, income is still low... After the survey, the Provincial Military Command directed Regiment 762 to organize a field trip to do mass mobilization work in 2 villages Yen Son 1 and Yen Son 2, Thanh Yen commune, helping the locality complete some tasks in the criteria for building new rural areas. With the motto "Tell people to understand, make people believe, guide people to implement", the officers and soldiers of Battalion 40, Regiment 762 have implemented "3 together" - eating, living, and working with the people.

During the days of mass mobilization work in the locality, despite the harsh hot weather, with the attention of the Party Committee, the government, the coordination of the work of the commune and village organizations, and especially the active response of the people, the officers and soldiers of Regiment 762 actively worked, helping the people dredge the canals in the fields, clean the village roads and alleys; organize leveling and pouring concrete at locations such as: the physical education yard of Thanh Yen Commune Primary School with a total area of nearly 700m2; the grandstand and yard of the Yen Son 1 village cultural house with a total area of 150m2; the residential road in the two villages of Yen Son 1 and Yen Son 2 with a total length of more than 400m. The unit organized to consolidate and clean up the areas around the eating, living and working places of the soldiers in 14 households; renew the landscape of the two cultural houses of Yen Son 1 and Yen Son 2 villages; built 12 new tree beds and planted many new trees. The soldiers organized haircuts, examined, consulted and provided free medicine for 46 local people; organized gift giving to 10 policy families, families of war invalids, sick soldiers, families with revolutionary contributions (each gift worth 300,000 VND). In addition, officers and soldiers of the Regiment also organized propaganda and mobilized people to comply with the Party's policies, policies and laws of the State, actively increase production development, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, well implement the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", preserve the good traditional cultural values of the locality. In addition, the unit also coordinated with the local youth union and women's union to organize sports exchanges, the cultural exchange night "Forever love between the army and the people" which left a deep impression and affection. These are practical and meaningful activities, helping to strengthen the relationship between the army and the people, leaving a deep impression and affection in the hearts of the local people. Moved by the work of the soldiers, many people joined the soldiers to speed up the progress of the work. Many families also created conditions for the soldiers in terms of food, accommodation and living...

As a particularly difficult commune, the help of the officers and soldiers of the unit in improving the transportation system, irrigation, environmental sanitation and propaganda to raise awareness among the people in implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws is an important driving force for the locality to be determined to implement the targets and tasks of socio-economic development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction. Through this, we also admire even more the beautiful image of Uncle Ho's soldiers".

Sharing with us, Private Do Quy Loc, Company 1, Battalion 40, Regiment 762, shared: “This is the first time I have participated in a field trip to do mass mobilization work with the unit. I am very honored to carry out this task, because it not only helps us understand the local customs and practices but also feels the affection of the people, who love us like their own children, help with food and accommodation, and encourage us both materially and spiritually”.

Major Bui Van Thang, Political Commissar of Battalion 40, Regiment 762, said: “The officers and soldiers have closely followed the direction and guidance of their superiors, developed plans, prepared well, and coordinated closely with localities. At the same time, Party committees and commanders at all levels have done a good job of educating, disseminating, and building the determination of officers and soldiers to be ready to receive and successfully complete the mission of field trips to do mass mobilization work in 2023.”

With practical and meaningful actions, officers and soldiers of Battalion 40, Regiment 762 have left good impressions in the hearts of the people, contributing to beautifying the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers".
