Tesla unveils robotaxi line called Cybercab
Tesla CEO Musk said the Cybercab robotaxi is charged using induction technology. The American billionaire said the Cybercab is 10 to 20 times safer than a human-driven car.
"You can imagine the car in a self-driving world as a little waiting room," AFP quoted Mr. Musk as saying to a crowd at Warner Brothers Studio near Los Angeles on October 11.
“You just sit inside this comfortable little waiting room, and you can do whatever you want. By the time you step outside, you’re there,” Mr. Musk described the vision of using electric robotaxi.
Little is known about Tesla’s new car, other than the fact that its doors open upward, like something out of a sci-fi movie. Musk said the company has produced 50 of them.

Tesla’s CEO estimates that the company’s self-driving Model 3 and Model Y cars will be on the roads of Texas and California next year, before the company moves into mass production of the Cybercab. And the robotaxi will be on sale by 2027.
In a surprise move, Tesla also took the opportunity to launch the Robovan, an electric vehicle with hidden wheels and no windshield. Once again, Tesla's car design looks a lot like the images of vehicles in science fiction movies.
According to Mr. Musk, Robovan is designed to carry up to 20 people or a large amount of cargo, serving personal or commercial needs.
Tesla has not revealed the time to sell Robovan or the expected price.
